In "Horizon: An American Saga," Kevin Costner’s sweeping Western epic, the dusty trails and rugged landscapes are only part of the story. The rest is told through the clothes. For costume designer Lisa Lovaas, every thread, hat, and suspender is a deliberate choice, a piece of history brought back to life. “A lot of people think a Western is easy,” says Kevin Costner. “You just get some Levi’s and hats and there you go. But it’s not—it’s monumental.” Lovaas and her team sourced fabrics from mills in the U.S. and the U.K., collaborated with Indigenous artisans for authentic beadwork and moccasins, and even aged garments with cement mixers to mimic the wear and tear of life on the trail. They went so far as to gather dirt samples from filming locations to ensure the colors matched perfectly on screen. Costner himself became an active participant in the process. He and Lovaas would sit down to review the costumes for the next day’s shoot, their collaboration rooted in mutual respect and a shared love for storytelling. She’s a little trickster,” he says with a chuckle. “She was under enormous pressure but that never stopped [her] from finding openings to sit down with me.” Read the full story at the link in bio. 📸: Lisa Lovaas; Emma McIntyre/Getty Images; Elyse Jankowski

Global travel could soon be faster than ever. Beijing-based Space Transportation has revealed plans for a supersonic jet capable of flying from New York to London in less than an hour and a hypersonic version that could make the trip from New York to Beijing in about two hours by 2030. The company’s Yunxing jet prototype, set to reach speeds of Mach 4 (3,069 mph), is expected to begin testing later this year, with a smaller, two-passenger autonomous version planned for 2027. Meanwhile, a hypersonic 50-passenger aircraft traveling at Mach 5 (3,836 mph) is also in development. While challenges like propulsion, material durability, and regulatory hurdles remain, Space Transportation’s ambitious project could revolutionize air travel as we know it. For the first time, Morocco has overtaken Egypt as Africa’s leading tourist destination. According to a recent report from the Ministry of Tourism, the Kingdom of Light welcomed 17.4 million international visitors in 2024, a 20 percent increase from the previous year. Bloomberg reports this surge in tourism places Morocco ahead of Egypt, which recorded 15.7 million arrivals in 2024, also a record for the former leader. Tourism revenue in Morocco climbed to $11 billion last year, bolstered by a 33 percent spike in visitors since 2019. Contributing factors include the launch of 120 new airline routes, such as American Airlines’ direct flight from Newark to Marrakech, and an influx of luxury hotel openings by brands like Four Seasons and Nobu. “This achievement is a step closer to positioning Morocco among the top 15 global tourist destinations,” said tourism minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor in a press statement. Vacheron Constantin is stepping back into the spotlight with a steel version of its iconic Historiques 222—a move poised to capture both seasoned collectors and those seeking an alternative to the usual hype watches. Following the success of the 18-karat gold revival in 2022, the new 37 mm “Jumbo” model features a sleek navy blue dial and robust steel construction, making it a more practical—and potentially more accessible—option than its gilded predecessor. The hallmark Maltese Cross, sapphire crystal caseback, and updated Calibre 2455/2 movement ensure it retains the refinement expected of Vacheron’s heritage.
