Cold plunging is a new part of my weekly routine, all thanks to my babes for getting us started. Honestly, at first, I absolutely hated it and was mad at my man for even suggesting this nonsense. 😂 THEN, after about 4 ice baths.. it clicked. I feel mentally stronger, focusing on my breath as my body trembles with cold, commanding my nervous system to calm in this heightened state. Coming back to my breath, the inner mental chatter and anxiety melt away, leaving clarity and control in its place. It also reallllly helps with muscle soreness! Which is always a relief. 🙏🏼 Now, we have our weekly contrast therapy dates: infrared sauna x cold plunge x infrared sauna x cold plunge- in that order. 😉 10-15mins of the sauna. 3mins ice bath for me, he does 5mins. And I look forward to it every week! It gets easier and easier, I promise.
