Be content. Have goals and aspirations. But also be content with the life, accumulations, lessons, and standings of where you are. You will only grow once you’ve come to peace with where you are along the journey.
Thank you to @liforme I now have a coupon code to share with you to buy my favvvveeee yoga mats of all time (the travel one duh). I’ve taken this mat everywhere I’ve travelled and use it day to day in my home practice. The grip is unmatched and comforting even though it’s thin. I use it for hot yoga and even in the sand. They are having a huge sale right now, you can join in with the link in my bio 🧡 I’ll be picking up the olive travel one for me too 🌱🌱 Photo by @frankieandfolk #yoga #yogamat #yogainspiration #yogaeverydamnday
I don’t remember when my first yoga class ever was. I didn’t have a transformative experience. I probably came to it at a time where mentally I wasn’t open and accepting. 3 years ago my body hit an absolute wall after years of constant berating it physically and mentally. Everyday I told myself everything I did was not good enough and everyday I forced through movement I thought I had to do. I had zero integrity to my body and zero intuition connected to my mind. I think at this point, when I hit the bottom, I began to chip away at the ice of my inner self and why I was this way. I couldn’t understand why I was the only one around me who just couldn’t be ok with themselves. Yoga proved itself to be this transformative experience at this time and pushed me to work through decades of disordered thinking and being. My outlook, personality, experiences, my existence completely changed. Over the next few months i want to share some things in my personal yoga journey to help everyone else who may feel similar struggles or simply just want to discover more. There are thousands of yoga teachers out there, and that is so awesome. As a community, our goal is to help educate and if you learn something from me or something from any other teacher out there, I love it. I am still learning myself. From all my teachers, peers, and anyone who takes my class. As I continue to grow, I’ll share movement, thoughts, and tools for you to equip your journey through The House of Asana. Sign up in my bio link where you can be notified of the launch where soon we can all be moving and connecting together 🧡 Thanks for getting this far in the caption ✨ This photo taken by my beautiful bff @frankieandfolk 🌿
Flow to visvamistrasana 🦋🦋 Great pose to add in for full body strength and requires a bit of flexibility but plenty of ways to come into it if you are still building (try it with the back knee down modified warrior 2 style). #yoga #yogaflow #yogapose #visvamistrasana
If you’re in a season of a little more down than up, here is a little flow to take care of yourself. Originally I was thinking of loneliness for this flow but really loneliness needs self care and any slowness needs self care. For this - more hugging/folding inward/a moment to fly and be free/twisting and rinsing/undulating and hip opening/heart expansion and freedom 🤍🤍 #yoga #yogaforselfcare #yogaflow
Pincha is hard. But you might be making it harder for yourself. Here are three things I found helpful in my inversion journey. If you start to notice them and refine them to a way that works for you, this shape can become more accessible 🤍🤍 #yoga #pinchamayurasana #inversionpractice
What a lot of my personal practice looks right now since I just finished @dedica final class of her Jan challenge. SooOoOooO try this out. Can always add on or get rid of something. Don’t worry about the movements just connect your brain to your body 👍👍👍👍
Ways to vasisthasana 🦋 Because if a teacher cues side plank you have a lot of options. Sometimes body needs to modify for physical purposes, sometimes brain needs to modify for thought and ego purposes. So here are some options I incorporate and give choice for. It’s not about what you do it’s about the integrity toward an asana and making it work for you. 🧡 #yoga #yogainspiration
This is a bit of a brain bender at first but so fun and looks tricker than it is. Maybe transition to koundinyasana 2 from here ❤️❤️
Tittibhasana can be kind funky to find in a flow but it’s a bit more chill from a wide leg forward fold ❤️ getting your bum low is important and so is the SQUEEZE of elbow into legs 🥲 you could even heel toe into a yogi squat then go from there. Also what are you doing to flow into this shape? Lmk I’d love to try 😊 #yoga #yogapose
You can always add on. Some places to go in dancers pose once you feel ready to. I am starting to find this shape a little tight to get into so takes some chest and heart opening as well as hamstring work beforehand. But this means I’m pretty open to move into more advanced or playful situations as I’m physically ready for it. You can always practice this pathway from pigeon pose too ❤️❤️ #yoga
