⭐️Am I Genetically Fat?⭐️ ⭐️The answer is Yes... and almost certainly No. ⭐️Yes: according to researchers, genetic factors can contribute to 25% to as much as 80% of a person’s likelihood of obesity. Many different genes affect your body in a range of ways and could be working alone or together to create the conditions that lead to obesity. ⭐️No: while genes in as much as 44% of the US population can make it harder to lose weight, they are likely not the reason you’re obese. While outliers exist - and some people genuinely do have serious metabolic conditions - these are rare. It may be HARDER for you to lose weight - which will be a frustrating challenge, I know first hand - but it’s very, very unlikely that it’s impossible. ⭐️That is to say; be encouraged! If obesity were genetic there would be no hope, but for 99% of you that’s not the culprit. What that leaves us with, both you the client and me as your coach, is to begin walking through all the many other clues we have to find out what is REALLY going on.

🔥What FINALLY Made Me Change??🔥 I grew up obese so I’ve always been dieting, to greater or lesser effect. It wasn’t until I was in my late 20s that I really had to take stock and make changes. I remember the incident clearly because I was driving home from the grocery store where I had just bought all my “healthy food” and as I was pulling into my apartment complex I hit a speed bump a little to fast and my titties flew up and hit me in the chin... Now as I rolled to a stop I said to myself, “I am a 27 year old virgin and my titties just hit me in the face... I gotta make some changes.” That was one of the major moments for me Because I had been on autopilot with my eating for most of my life, seeing limited results for the most part and more or less believing that there was no way I could get fit. Like most people with long term obesity, I told myself every comforting fiction about why I was fat from ‘I’m just different’ to ‘maybe it’s my thyroid!’ But what I hadn’t done was really be serious and find out what my problem was... And it took me finally being extremely ashamed of myself to get me there. And honestly it’s that mental space that most informs my work with my guys and gals now. The psychology and the emotion of being obese or having an eating disorder or just really struggling with your physique is something that I think really gives me insight into how to help everyone I’m working with. Because so many trainers have always looked beautiful, more or less, and while they may be good at their work there still remains something deeply affecting about having lived through it yourself. 📝Trainer Diary: Why I Hated Bowflex ⭐️“Did you ever watch the Bowflex commercials when you were a kid?”⭐️ ⭐️And I remember watching those Bowflex commercials as a little 200-pound 12-year-old thinking, “you did not get that way on a Bowflex, dude. I can see you.” ⭐️And the models always turned out to be like a Navy SEAL or something like that. I’m like, okay, that’s great. Don’t lie to me about how the Bowflex works, guys. Just give it to me straight. Tell me you like using the Bowflex or whatever, but don’t tell me that you transformed or make me believe you transformed using a Bowflex. It took so much more work. ⭐️And I think that was part of what was holding me back as a young person is the idea that the whole thing was a scam. Like there was no one on the other side who actually knew what I was going through. ⭐️Taking control of your physique is a really big change. And I think with any big change a lot of people are sabotaging themselves by imagining that they have to get it right the first time: that they have to get it perfect. ⭐️When it comes to your physique, imagining that you have to have the perfect diet, or the perfect workout routine, or the perfect schedule is really holding most people back from doing anything at all. The perfect is becoming the enemy of the good. And the reality is that you don’t have to be perfect: be something. ⭐️Something is better than what 90% of people are doing which is nothing. And so if you just get in the gym and do anything, you’re already ahead of the game. If you just take a little bit of control of your eating - even something that sounds silly like cutting out sugar, or whatever - you’ve already put yourself on the path to success, that you weren’t before. ⭐️So it’s really a huge mistake to imagine you have to be perfect first, because you don’t have a knowledge problem you have an execution problem. ⭐️⭐️⭐️Start executing and you’ll become perfect over time.⭐️⭐️⭐️ #muscle #fitness #transformation #flawlessform #trainer #keeppushing #losangeles

⭐️This algorithm really responds well to funny and thirsty. So here’s a joke. Why do Frenchmen only eat one egg for breakfast? Because one egg is “un œuf”. 💪😜💪 You’re welcome.

⭐️Client Question: “What does 10% bodyfat look like?”⭐️ ⭐️A good position of the men I train have an underlying frame similar to mine so my body is a useful rubric for expectations for them. And because many of my guys used to be obese they have no reference point for knowing what they can or can’t expect when they put in the work. So I like to give them a waypoint now and then. ⭐️It’ll look a little different on each physique, but I have mine tested periodically. Here’s a typical 10% look. Abs are there but it’s not Shredtown. Some leg separation. Extra tissue still hanging out around the pecs, lower back, and thighs. ⭐️I maintain this pretty easily right now. I lift 5 days a week for an hour, about 20 min cardio, another 20 min for mobility stuff. For the most part it’ll be a question of habits. I eat the same stuff all the time and I’ll have an extra meal of something special maybe once a week. ⭐️Going to aim at 7-8% before music festivals start back up.
