Favorite mid/plus size thrift finds (and why I love them so you can be on the look out!). NGL thrifting as a plus size person is HARD. I started my account as a thrifting account back in 2019 when I was about 50lbs lighter than I am now. My experience thrifting then was difficult but not impossible, now at 240lbs, it feels impossible (but it’s not!). My expectations have changed a lot when I go thrifting. I don’t go with specifics in mind because it generally leads to disappointment. I don’t go when I don’t have AMPLE time to rummage through everything. And most importantly, I DON’T BUY THINGS JUST BECAUSE THEY FIT. This has been a big one for me because after searching for ANYTHING the excitement of finding just something that fits can override the logic of “do I actually want this?” “Is it something I can regularly see myself wearing?” “Does it go with the clothes I already have?” Etc. But when you find those gems, it’s so so worth it. My mindset just needed a big change after gaining weight when I moved to the US/had a baby.
