I wish somebody would have told me when I was younger, all bodies aren’t the same! I mean just look at this video …. This is a small number of humans in the grand scheme of the world and we are all different!! Which is exactly as it is meant to be! For some reason women have been told time and time again that in order to be beautiful we must fit into some male given societal modal and it is utter baloney! Like full on, not an ounce of truth baloney! Our beauty is in our difference! Our beauty is more than our bodies! Our beauty can not be defined by a man! I’m so grateful to all these amazing gals who took part in this video as not only will this reel encourage so many to see themselves as so much more than what society tells them they should be but they have been a huge part in my own journey of self acceptance. 5 days, 1 boat, 14 humans …. Best bucket list adventure! We spent 3 days exploring the San Blas islands and 2 days of non stop sailing going from Panama to Colombia and team, it was epic! Beach bbqs, fire pits, sunny days, beers on deck, beach doggos, volleyball, dancing and talent shows! I may or may not have got ever so slightly sea sick and had my head off the back of the boat for 12 hours 😂 but I’d do it again in a heartbeat! Especially as in the middle of the night, in the middle of the sea, with the brightest stars and sparkly bio luminescent plankton, I don’t think there is anywhere better to be sick 😂😂😂 I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a thousand times more, say yes to life! This trend 🥹 What I’d give to sit down with a younger version of myself and just hold her… I wish I could tell her all the things we’ve learned and accepted about ourself, even though she’d doubt it, but also tell her we are continually learning. Continually discovering new parts of who we are and how it’s ok to change and adapt. That it’s ok to have the big emotions you do but to try not to listen to them all. So so many things I wish I could tell her … So for now, we have to tel ourselves all the things we’d want our younger versions to know and keep reminding ourselves how proud we are of where we are and how far we’ve come. And if you struggle to say it to yourself then listen up: I am so proud of you. I see you struggles, I see the days you wonder what’s the point and I see you rising. I see how you handle life with such grace even with so much on your shoulders. You pour sunshine out on so many people so make sure you take a minute to absorb your own rays. Is there anything better than a slow moving Sunday in the English countryside? Hot coffee in bed, fires crackling, long walks, fresh air, comfort food, rainy days, getting stuck into a good book… pure unwinding. Taking time to just ‘be’ is so important beautiful beans. Early detection saves lives ❤️ Blood cancer can go undetected for a long time because the symptoms are easily passed off for other things and what’s even more worrying is that Hodgkins Lymphoma (the cancer I had twice) is the MOST common cancer in young adults. The symptoms to look out for: Recurring cold/flu Painless lump in neck, armpit or groin Weight loss Fatigue Itching Night sweats When I was diagnosed at a very late stage 4, I had never heard of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, let alone what to look out for so please share this with anyone and everyone to help us all be more body aware. We all know that early detection saves lives so please use today, World Cancer Day, to remind yourselves to book that GP appointment you keep putting off, check your chests & remind your loved ones to do that same. I may be full of trauma but at least I’m now hilarious 💁🏼‍♀️ You know the saying if you don’t laugh you’ll cry … well sometimes you have to just roll with that the best you can and that’s one thing us cancer kids have down to a t! With world cancer day tomorrow it got me thinking about all the trials and challenges everyone I know who’s had or has cancer has been through and yet someone they shine the brightest. They’re the ones you’ll see dancing in the shop because their favourite song came on, making friends with anyone who walks past them, laughing endlessly over something others would raise their eyebrows at and truly understanding the importance of saying yes to life!
