If you've used my platform tell me in the comments what you loved ๐Ÿ‘‡ My whole thing is giving you a little bit of everything, helping you to build strong foundations and a better understanding of your own body so that you can become your best pole self. I'm your core syllabus. I'm the equivalent of your local studio online. Many platforms are designed to supplement studio training or focus on a specific aspect of pole. This is important but you'll only get so far without putting in the ground work too! A little update on this old post โ˜บ๏ธ I get asked this multiple times a week eek ๐Ÿซฃ I want to add that some people are convinced they need extra grip when what they really need is more trust in themselves. Unless you're plummeting to your death or physically unable to hold yourself on the pole at all... You are probably fine. A certain amount of slide is very normal, particularly in the beginning, and often desirable depending on what you're working on. Stop obsessing over having perfect grip. #pdsilicone #pdsiliconepole #polethoughts

I was having far too much fun to remember to take as many photos and videos as I should have but ๐Ÿ™Œ It's definitely one of my favourite countries I've been to. The food was amazing, the people were amazing, the retreat and accommodation and company was amazing 10/10 #croatia #korcula #travel #pole #poleretreat #trip

The vast majority of the things students apologise for or worry about are just not an issue. If your instructor makes you feel like they are then ๐Ÿšฉ #poledancecommunity #polethoughts #polereflections #poleperspective #polejourney #poledancecoach #poledancersofig #polewisdom #practicalpole #poletalk #poleculture #aerialcommunity #poledanceworld #beginnerpole #beginnerspole #beginnerpoledancer #pdbeginners #pdbeginner

Don't get me wrong... Most pole dancers will realise everything in this video is hard. But you'd be surprised by how many pole dancers and muggles are shocked when they try certain skills because they've only ever seen anyone make it look easy. It's important to remember that natural talent with zero work only gets you so far. Equally hard work can out pace natural talent that's lazy. Everything we do in pole can be easier or harder depending on the individual. We are all different. But the key thing is to put the work in off camera ๐Ÿ™Œ you gotta do the the less glamorous things like strength training and flexibility work to succeed. #poledancecommunity #polethoughts #polereflections #poleperspective #beginnerpole #beginnerspole #polejourney #poledancecoach #poledancersofig #polewisdom #practicalpole #poletalk #poleculture #aerialcommunity #poledanceworld

Loving this one, might get the advanced students to do it tonight ๐Ÿ‘€ if we aren't too slippery. The temperature has finally dropped but it's still pretty warm. #pdstatic #staticpole #advancedpole #pdadvanced #pole #poledance #polesequence #poletrickoftheday #poletrick

There are a bunch of reasons you might be struggling with a second climb. 1. Strength. We can cheat a little on our first climb by having one leg in contact with the pole. 2. Stamina. We may have the strength but just get too tired by the second climb. 3. Technique. If we rush to do everything at once it won't work well. If we don't have a push somewhere, either the leg or arm, we won't be able to use our knees which is much less energy intensive. Strength and stamina will get better through practice, targeted strength training and time. If it's technique that's the issue we want to slow things down and really think about what we are asking our body to do. Ensure the arms are set up in your chosen position first (both arms straight or a forearm push, you need at least one arm straight to begin with), then slide the legs up in the same position (moving the back leg first can be easier to begin with), then roll the hips. I have multiple tutorials and strength training classes for climbs on my platform. And provide direct feedback and advice. So if you're really stuck I can help. There's also a free trial right now ๐Ÿ‘€ #pdclimbing #poleclimb #pdbeginner #beginnerspole #polebeginner #poletutorial #pole #homepoler #poledance #polefitness

Which is your favourite? I love these advanced transitions to Ayesha. The first one is ๐Ÿคฏ you have to turn so many times and my god it's so slippy even on a silicone pole today. 1. Not rush into teaching and performing. I was thrown into teaching only a year in and I was way in over my head. I needed more time. Plus teaching and performing are not necessarily the next step in a journey - they're completely different paths with different skills and responsibilities. 2. Cross train - particularly in the gym. Not filling my training gaps held me back on the pole and meant I got injured far more often. 3. Not compare myself to others. My journey is my journey alone. Comparing only ever made me feel bad or encouraged me to emulate. We love our favourite pole dancers because they're entirely unique and embodied.. They're fully themselves. Not trying to be someone else. 4. Slow down and rest more. Training every day wasn't cute, it was a one way ticket to burn out and injury. Forcing myself to repeatedly fail at tricks just held me back and meant I had to go back and build my foundations from scratch. 5. Invest more in my training. Whilst I went to workshops, and trained with other instructors often, for most of my career I trained alone. Investing in good knowledgeable instructors would have saved me a lot of time and failure. 6. Had more of a life outside of pole. When my Endometriosis got worse and I got long covid my entire life was essentially ripped from me. Pole was my hobby, my passion, my job and my friendship group. Keeping connected to the outside world would have saved me a lot of grief. It's not healthy to put everything into one area of your life. #pole #poledance #poleculture #polereflections #poleinstructor #polejourney
