The other day, a student asked me what kind of bird Iโ€™d be. I paused. Iโ€™d never been asked that question before! It only took me a beat to think about it. Iโ€™d be a seagull. What about YOU? What bird would you be?

Hey, remember when we would draw together every day at 2 pm ET? We started that five years ago today. What a time that was. So much uncertainty in the world, but weโ€™d spend some time with creative expression and escape it all for a bit. We held weeks and weeks of live drawing sessions, and those videos are still up on my YouTube channel. Some of the young artists I met back then are about to graduate high school. Wildโ€”just wild. Swipe to the end for that sweet, sweet sound of a snoring Ralph Macchio on the Pug Cam. What an honor to have been welcomed into your homes in such a time. ๐Ÿ™ Hope everyone has continued to make something out of nothing!

One of the many reasons why I love visiting public libraries as an author: Not only do I get to meet my readers one-on-one, but it brings families INTO the public library. There was this one dad who, I just got the vibe, wasnโ€™t psyched to be there. But this guy attended because his kid reads my books. At the book signing, he flashed a wide smile through his bushy beard and said, โ€œIโ€™ve never been to anything like this, and it was AWESOME!โ€ I hope that Dad enjoys many trips back to the library. Thank you to the Marion Public Library and Read 20 for their hard work in making this event happen. Every attendee received a free book! And I got to have my mug on a billboard. (Donโ€™t worry, Gina wonโ€™t let it get to my head!)
