Well its finally out!!! It’s taken a lot longer than expected but its done and here is a bit of the introduction. It is an extension to the Botanical Monoprinting Tutorial which outlines the whole process including materials and a step by step guide which is a great starting point in which I talk about the history of Botanical monoprinting, materials, printing with leaves and flowers, different papers and printing on fabric. They are both self-paced and you can keep returning to for at least 12 months. In the multi layer tutorial I will work with and without a press to keep it accessible to everyone. This will help you to really understand the process and get the results you want to achieve, before moving on to the more experimental practice of multilayering. So if you have taken the first tutorial you will now find a discount voucher at the bottom of the list of contents for the multi-layer tutorial. You can find the first tutorial and all of the materials and written step by step guides on the website https://www.impressionsofnature.co.uk/materials link in profile. I absolutely love to share this process and have been doing so face to face for over 20 years so it gives me great pleasure to be able to share it further a field. . . . . . . . .. . . . #monoprint #monoprinting #onlinecourses #learnmonoprinting #teachingprintmaking #introductiontoprintmaking #learnprintmaking #printmakingwithoutapress #artworkshop #workshop #onlineartclass #artinspiration #artideas #howtoprintflowers #artlesson #artworkshop #tutorial #printmakingtutorial #multilayerprintmaking #printmakingincolour #advancedmonoprinting #sketchbooktour #creativerocess #mixedmediaart #m#multilayermonoprinting

If you would like a little guidance and want to try this amazing process this is what the little Step by step books look like. If you want to Translate them see below … 🇫🇷🇪🇸🇧🇷🇵🇹🇦🇷🇩🇪🇺🇦🇸🇪🇮🇹🇬🇷🇯🇵🇳🇱🇩🇰 Google’s translation feature can rewrite the PDFs into your preferred language. Google can, for the most part, provide a reasonably coherent rendition in a multitude of languages. You can follow these instructions to translate a PDF file, 1. First search online for Google Translate. 2. Choose the language you would like to translate from and to. 3. Click Choose File 4. Click the Translate button. 5. Google will then translate the text. 6. You will get a pop-up with the PDF file translated. It may of course be worth testing it on a document you already have to check it. There is a link in the bio @impressionsofnatureprints or you can pop over to our website. https://www.impressionsofnature.co.uk/materials it’s great fun at any age. You could tag a friend and have a monoprint party! 🎉🥳🎊 get covered in ink together like I do 😂. . . . . . . . . . #printmakingbook #monoprintbook #learntomonoprint #monoprint #ukprintmakers #printmakingtoday #impressionsofnature #contemporarycraft #printmaking #natureprint #botanicalillustration #nobetterdesignerthannature #naturediary #botanicalprint #foragedart #flowerprint #naturejournal #naturejournaling

✨🌿 I love Nettles even if they do sting me all the time….but if you hold them tightly they don’t sting honestly! I have made Nettle Christmas cards for a few people, they symbolising strength, healing, protection, and self-sufficiency in women, nettles embody a potent duality being both fierce and gentle, painful and restorative, widespread yet invaluable. In folklore, nettles provided protection against “elf-shot” just in case you come across any naughty elves! If you want to try this I have listed all materials step by step guides and my new project book on the website https://www.impressionsofnature.co.uk/materials links also in the profile. . . . . #monoprint #printmakingtoday #leafprint #contemporarycraft #printmaking #natureprint #originalprint #botanicalillustration #originalprint #medicinalplants #medicinalherbs #nettle #nettleprint #botanicalmonoprinting #botanical #goldink #festiveideas #goldprint

Because the dancing winter trees were enjoyed. Here is something a little different!🖤🤍🖤 Still Monoprinting... I do have a little mini guide to this process including the images I am using, there is a link in the bio to all booklets and guides 😊 it’s only £1 🙌 I dont often use a Gelli plate but it is idea for this process which uses the principles of lithography. I know its not the same as the mesmerising trees but I hope you like it . . . . . . . . . . . #gelplateprinting #gelprinting #gellplateprinting #gelliplate #gelliplateimagetransfer #gelliplatetransfer #monoprint #monoprinting #phototransfer #impressionsofnature #wintertrees #nakedtrees #winterwoodland #wintergratitude #crownshyness #canopyshyness #beechtrees #naturejournal #naturelover #treelover #printmaking #printmakingprocess

Dancing trees at the tail end of storm Darragh… a few trees had fallen and lots of twigs on the ground as the storm changed pathways and pruned the woodland… it was certainly a wild one! I love to just pause and look up 👀 these channels are known as crown or canopy shyness. Can you see the nest right at the top of one of the trees to the left of the screen? I made a print from the trees too coming next 😊 . . . . #wintertrees #treesinthebreeze #nakedtrees #dancingtrees #winterwoodland #wintergratitude #everydaymagic #crownshyness #canopyshyness #nobetterdesignerthannature #naturalphenomenon

✨Wild Sage in gold ✨ are you making cards, gifts or decorations this festive season? ✨I have a step by step booklet to help you to get the most out of the process, the booklets start at £4.75 there is a link in the bio to all materials and step by step guides also on the website https://www.impressionsofnature.co.uk/materials ✨ Whilst I was researching the history of Botanical monoprinting for my tutorial I discovered a Leonardo DaVinci monoprinted sage leaf in one of his journals. So if you try this you know you are in very good company, sage is a great choice to start with because you get so really lovely detail too. Sage conveys wisdom and long life. Its name, derived from the Latin word “salvare,” meaning “to save” or “to heal,” reflects its historical role as a medicinal and culinary herb. Throughout British history, sage has been regarded as a guardian of health, believed to ward off evil spirits and protect against sickness. It is often associated with rituals and superstitions and I will include it in my Solstice celebration. Hanging bundles of sage over doorways to ward off malevolent forces or carrying a sprig of sage as a talisman for protection was common place. In some regions, it was believed that planting sage near the home would bring prosperity and guard against lightning strikes. Sage has a long history of medicinal use and is known to have natural anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. As well as many other uses sage in a tea can provide relief from sore throats and I have used it as a natural remedy for throat infections. . . . . . . . #culinaryherb #sage #herbal #medicinalherbs #sageprint #herbprint #botanicalprint #botanicalmonoprint #printingwithplants #monoprint #printmaking #printmakingprocess #printmakingtoday #BotanicalPrints #NatureInspired #HerbalArt #BotanicalIllustration #NaturePrints #BotanicalCrafts #contemporarycraft #naturjournal #goldprint #festiveseason

Something a little different, making tree decorations... I love hand made seasonal decorations and in particular making them. These ones are fairly simple to make and you can use any paint you have... I am using Ivy and sea holly leaves for these. I hope you will give this a try, its great to do with all age groups, I have worked with little ones as young as 2 years... I have put a link to all materials in the bio and they can be found on the website here https://www.impressionsofnature.co.uk/materials... I am often asked what I do with all my printmaking... its such a lovely versitile process and adapts to many different gift and decorative ideas a few of which, including more decorations, are included in my new project book also listed on the website. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #craftworkshop #homemadechristmas #handmadedecorations #festiveworkshop #christmasornaments #christmasdecorations #treeornaments #folkartornaments #folkart #christmascrafts #christmasdecorating #christmasdecor #xmasdecor #papercrafts #paperdecoration #papercrafting #monoprinting #monoprint #botinicalmonoprint #printmaking

Combining processes with Gold. Barn Owl and Grassess. I really enjoy this way of combining processes, the monoprinted grasses bring so much texture to the linocut and create a depth. I love the Linocut process, the resulting images are always quite static and graphic so monoprinting really softens the final print and add a little extra energy I think. This is also a way of creating completly unique one off art works from the lino plate. If you would like to try monoprinting, most of the materials I use are listed on the website there is a link in the bio or you can visit https://www.impressionsofnature.co.uk/materials I hope to be making a new Linoprinting online workshop and booklets in the new year so I will be sharing a lot more with you, I hope you enjoy it and that it inspires you to have a go! . . . . . . . . . . #monoprinting #Monoprints #meadowgrasses #contemporarycraft #printmakingtoday #natureprintmaking #grassprint #wildlifeprintmaking #linocut #contemporarylinoprint #contemporaryprintmaking #printmaking #linocut #linoprint #barnowl #barnowlprint #linogravure #combiningprocesses #experimentalprintmaking

✨🙏🥰 With immense gratitude for all of the students i have had the pleasure to teach, here is a little showcase some of the amazing printmaking created by my degree students as my teaching year comes to an end for 2024. Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked in a variety of roles in education, finding the experience both inspiring and rewarding. Returning to education as a mature student myself was life-changing and deeply transformative. Creative education, at any level, offers numerous benefits many of which are less obvious that the development of creative skills. Here are a few that I have observed in both my students and myself. It provides a rare chance to devote time and energy to what truly inspires and excites you, leading to a more fulfilling life. Creates a structured environment for exploring personal narratives, cultural heritage, and unique perspectives, fostering greater self-awareness and understanding. Encourages the development of a distinct creative voice that reflects individuality and vision, helping us connect with our true selves. Facilitates the discovery of what drives and motivates us, enabling alignment between creative work and personal or professional goals. Builds the ability to clearly express the intentions, meanings, and processes behind our work to diverse audiences. Equips us to face challenges with creativity and confidence, transforming setbacks into opportunities for growth. Inspires us to embrace change, experiment with new techniques, and be open to the evolving world around us. Creates a mindset of exploration, encouraging us to ask questions, seek diverse sources of inspiration, and continually refine our practice. Teaches the value of reflection and iteration, fostering lifelong learning and continuous improvement. Cultivates a sense of belonging through exploration of personal narratives, collaboration and shared experiences. Creative education has a unique power to transform, connect, and inspire, something I hope you are able to experience for yourself. . . . . . . . . . #monoprinting #monoprint #printmaking #teachingart #teachingprintmaking #artteacher #botanicalmonoprinting #lecturer

Fabulous Ferns and for a change on White and Black🌿 Ferns lend themselves beautifully to this time of year and monoprinting. Ferns are often seen as a symbol of magic, protection, and purification. In European folklore, the fern was believed to have protective and magical properties. It was thought to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck. In some traditions, it was used in protective rituals and as an ingredient in spells to ward off malevolent forces. If you want to try this I have listed all materials on the website https://www.impressionsofnature.co.uk/materials links also in the profile. . . . . . . . . . #fernprint #leafprint #goldleafprint #Monoprinting #Handprinted #PrintmakingProcess #monoprint #contemporarybotanicalart #printmakingtoday #PrintmakersOfInstagram #festiveideas #christmasdecorations #yule #christmascrafts #festivecrafts #natureprint #handmadegifts

🌿✨I love to see people making decorations for their homes at this time of year... I have been making some monoprinted bunting. I think this Accathus leaf feels very festive and ideal for a string of bunting when trimmed... Ferns are also great to use so maybe I will do a mixture🌿✨ I am often asked what I do with my monoprints and this is one of the things I like to make, I have lots of other ideas to inspire you in my new Project book too .... I have put a link to materials and the books in the bio or you can find the here on the website https://www.impressionsofnature.co.uk/materials . . . . . . . .. . . . #accanthus #leafprint #Monoprinting #Handprinted #PrintmakingProcess #PrintmakingTechniques #monoprint #contemporarybotanicalart #contemporaryprintmaking #printmakingtoday #handmadecrafts #PrintmakersOfInstagram #festiveideas #christmasdecorations #yule #sustainablechristmas #christmascrafts #festivecrafts #handmadegifts
