Some new folks around here lately so wanted to reintroduce myself! Howdy! 👋🏻 I’m Katie 💕 - I taught in ECE and public education for a total of 10 yrs, 8 of those teaching pre-k - Currently I am a FT homeschool mom of 2 - I love sharing low cost, low prep, play based learning activities - Sharing the good news and living a Christ centered life are very important to me ✝️ - Incorporating nature and the great outdoors into our daily life and school routine is my PASSION 🌱☀️ - I’m working on a children’s book and getting into the writing world (specifically bibliotherapy for young children) ✏️📚 - I love coffee, hiking, reading, sitting outside and listening to nature, and arts & crafts! It’s been rainy and chilly lately, but we aren’t staying cooped up because of it! The quote says it all. Keep gettin that vitamin D, y’all. Breathe in that fresh, cold, crispy air because if you’re a human… YOU NEED IT!!! ❄️☔️🍂

Fun and simple Christmas tree craft to do with your kiddos! 🎄 Benefits: ❤️ fine motor development 💚 discussions about Christmas trees ❤️ discussions about a holiday our family celebrates (Christmas) 💚 discussions about decorating for holidays ❤️ text connections (if read Christmas/ holiday books) 💚 keepsake ❤️ hanging it up in your home so your child can be a part of the holiday decorating process 💚 quality time I’m sure there’s more! It’s crazy when I look back on a simple activity such as this and recall every little thing that benefited my children. What a blessing that we were able to do this together!

Parenting is our favorite journey! One day Chris and I were talking about how much we love being parents (even when it’s not all that easy) and he said to me, “It feels like I’m getting to be a kid all over again with my kids and I love it!” And that was reason # 6928374 that I married this man 🥹🫶🏻

This was simple, cute, and fun for my toddler since she’s been VERY obsessed with turkeys lately lol. Here’s how to: 1. Let toddler use watercolor paints to cover a paper plate 2. Cut out turkey head & body parts with construction paper or use stickers like I did for the eyes if you have on hand (this can be as elaborate as you want it to be) 3. Help toddler squeeze glue onto each body part and let them place the body parts onto their turkey (I usually just tell my toddler, “These are the turkey eyes, glue them on the head.” (If you’d prefer for it to be more creative you can just give the supplies and stand back! ☺️ 4. Read a fun turkey book so that your child can make text connections to something they have made Some other fun ideas to modify: use googly eyes, glue craft feathers on the paper plate, cut out other body parts such as legs, wings, etc., cut out turkey accessories such as hat, scarf, glasses, etc. This is not meant to be an art project, but rather just a fun, festive activity! The benefits include quality time, practicing focus, fine motor skills, language development through discussions about turkeys and other holiday festivities! 🥳 🦃🍁

We had a lovely Thanksgiving day full of joy and surrounded by loved ones! Be blessed y’all! 💕🦃🥧🙏🏻

Had an AMAZING weekend getaway in the TX hill country (we specifically went to wine country lol). We realized we never went on our honeymoon and then we let our anniversary slip past us bc life 🤷🏼♀️ We finally decided to MAKE the time for ourselves and man we sure did love to just be together and explore, walk, try new food, plan our future, and of course talk about how much we missed our girls 😭 If you ever find yourself in the lone star state I highly recommend a visit to Fredericksburg 🍷 and of course check out at least one the many state parks nearby for some beautiful hiking views! 😍🥾

I used to have a specific theme for this Christmas tree and I would only put ornaments on it that were aesthetically pleasing and went along with my theme. Don’t get me wrong it was a beautiful tree and I loved it! But I love my tree even more now. This tree was my grandparents’ Christmas tree for years and it was passed down to me. It was free, not pre-lit, and it’s now filled with ornaments that are meaningful to my family. Just a friendly reminder {not that anyone needs it} that you don’t have to create the perfectly themed tree to feel that Christmas spirit! 😍🎄

How awesome is it to serve a God that gives us such perfect blessings! He truly does miracles on miracles! 🙌🏻💖🪽

What happens when you just go outside?? Lot’s of healthy stuff! That’s what! 🌲☀️🦋🌈🐞

Just sharing a few of our fave Thanksgiving reads currently! These are all great reads and have helped enrich our toddler’s language by: 🤎 discussing Thanksgiving (a holiday we celebrate) 🤎 hearing and using the word “thankful” 🤎 naming foods we eat (especially during fall/ Thanksgiving) 🤎 discussing what happens in the natural world during fall 🤎 learning about the word “family” and who is in our family These are just a few! Also side note, I Am Thankful is a great book! However, it is a little long for toddlers. We break it up and read a bit one night then come back to read the next section another night. It still has very valuable content though so I recommend!
