I made three different blends. ~ Moon Tea This blend is nourishing for the luteal phase of your cycle (premenstrual phase). ~ Blood Sugar Balance I was inspired to make this blend since going on the whole30 diet. Many of the ingredients in this tea balance blood sugar and help curb cravings! Also, it’s delicious!! Did you know… x black pepper helps you absorb turmeric? ~ Good Morning Tea I’ve been drinking green tea for a while now after breakfast (Doctor’s orders) for its health benefits. But it’s not particularly my favorite tea. (I’m trying to space out sharing my book hauls on a Instagram.) The two fiction books in the final photo are a couple I grabbed for me to read this winter. I’m hoping to read a little Shakespeare over the winter as well. 📚 I already own a copy of Walden but this old paperback was too pretty to leave behind. The trouble is, my other copy of Walden is also pretty. ~ ~ I started calendula from seed this spring and that gave me a jump start to my best calendula season yet! In fact, there are still some blooming, they’re so hardy! I will be using my dried calendula in teas and homemade facial toner. I’ve made the toner before and I love it! Calendula is amazing in salves too, but I currently have an abundance along natural healing salves. ~ We are still learning about animals… we spent quite a bit of time reading about octopuses and watching educational videos about them (YouTube). They are such fascinating, intelligent creatures! Did you know their brains are in their entire body? They can taste with their suction cups? They have three hearts? I tried to watch @myoctopusteacher (Netflix) with Katherine but she was bored by it. We’ll try that one again in a couple years. Have you seen it? If not, I HIGHLY recommend it, I’ve watched it several times, it really makes you appreciate the under-appreciated octopus! 🐙 We did an octopus experiment where I drew an octopus on a gallon ziplock bag and filled it with water. I cut a rather small hole in the middle of a paper plate and asked Katherine if she thought the “octopus” would fit through it. She said no. The boneless creature did indeed fit! 🦉 More recently Katherine requested to learn about owls. They, too, are amazing with their facial discs, necks that can rotate 270° (their eyes cannot move), and their ability to fly silently due to Jehovah’s brilliant design of their feathers.
