Hi mamas 👋🏻 I’m Kristie, the mama behind BeautyandBlake. I’m a homeschool mama to our 👧🏻. If you would’ve asked me growing up if I would homeschool our daughter I’d probably laugh and say no way. I was raised going to public school my entire life. I knew one family that was homeschooled. But times have changed. I’m an operating room nurse turned homeschool mama! When our girl was two I left my full time nursing career and started staying home. With nursing there were very early days and very late nights. She was always the first baby at daycare and sometimes the last one to leave. My mama heart hurt. The more my husband and I talked about it we realized it was the right decision for me to change careers (going from a full time nurse to a full time, very present, mom). Leaving my job was the best decision our family could have made. I’m able to be a much more present mom, be involved in every activity, be there for every milestone, watching our baby grow up, teach her what we want to teach her, and most importantly let her be a kid. Here’s a little more about me: I’m addicted to drinking coffee ☕️ Born and raised in Pennsylvania and now I live in Texas. You can always find us outside 🌳🌻 unless it’s well over 100 🤪 Prek mama I’m all about the Girly Mom Era 👧🏻🎀 Also, totally embracing my Dance Mom Era 🩰 You can 99.9 percent of the time find me rocking a mom bun and sweatpants I’m addicted to thrift shopping. It’s like a treasure hunt 🏴‍☠️
