What a year. 「Energy今年還有什麼新歌，你知道嗎？」 「Energy會開演唱會嗎？什麼時候來新加坡？」 「你會主持Energy的簽唱會嗎？」 「你會去Energy的演唱會嗎？」 「你去台灣會跟Energy見面嗎？」 Excuse me. 各位鄉親，冷靜一下。沒有主持、沒有獨家內幕，我只是來蹭熱度的。 What a night. 第一首歌過門響起，立刻起了雞皮疙瘩。 有幸在22年前主持Energy的第一場簽唱會，還有之後的很多場活動，都是人山人海的大場面。22年前已聽過Energy歌迷震耳欲聾的尖叫聲，22年後依舊震撼，謝謝你們當年在各種場合，我怎麼cue，你們怎麼配合。哈哈。 還記得我們從簽唱會到新加坡金曲獎彩排現場，堵車的關係，還沒上台，大家先衝廁所；還有那年去臺北主持頒獎典禮，然後在後台敬酒；還有一次約了奶哥，他到了餐廳，我竟然還沒起床。Ooops. Energy今晚的演出，掀起許多回憶、展現滿滿誠意，也讓我們看到他們這些年的蛻變。恭喜演唱會圓滿落幕。 謝謝Energy和 C 的邀請。今晚太開心了。 🥳

TEN SMOKE-FREE YEARS!   Following two private, half-hearted and therefore unsuccessful attempts in the months prior, I announced on Singapore’s number one radio station YES 93.3FM and on social media in Jun 2014 that I had smoked my last cigarette the day before. It was a go big or go home moment — let everyone know about the plan, and my ego and desire to avoid public failure would do the job.   Cigarettes were getting more and more expensive; legal smoking areas were vanishing; (most) airport smoking rooms were disgusting and smoking kills — literally. However, those weren’t the reasons why I stopped.   Transitioning from a radio personality to a management position, I had back to back appointments. Instead of focussing on the meetings, I was distracted with the planning of smoke breaks. 🤦🏻‍♂️   “Next meeting at 2pm, walk out to smoke at 1.45pm. Then end at 2.50pm to smoke before the 3pm meeting.”“CEO is here, can’t leave early. Ok, I’ll be late for the next one then.”   This happened throughout the day, every working day. It was ridiculous.   So I had to break free from the nicotine addiction. (Nicotine has been classified as a highly addictive drug and a poison. Nicotine does not alleviate stress. Nicotine does not help people move their bowels — they just need fibre. Also, smelling like an ashtray does not make one more attractive. Well, this post just effectively made me ineligible to work in any tobacco company. Haha.)   So I stopped smoking.   And I’ve been showing off every single year. 😎   Allen Carr wrote the book “The Easy Way to Stop Smoking” in 1985. Critics say there’s limited empirical evidence, despite strong endorsements by numerous personalities globally. Well, the fact remains that this was my primary tool in quitting — not cold turkey, not nicotine gum or patches. I wholeheartedly thank Carr. (Btw, Pam Oei runs the Allen Carr workshop in Singapore.)   Thanks to M, who told me to read the book, and my friends and social media followers who liked and commented on my posts and provided that pressure to succeed.   Smokers, quitting smoking was undisputedly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. May YOU find the motivation to quit soon.

姊出道34年⋯⋯ 她1990年唱「追得過一切」時，我在上小學。四年后，她在933醉心金曲獎拿下人生第一個最受歡迎女歌手獎。我還沒入行，但記得另一位女歌手的歌迷因為偶像沒得獎，怒將螢光棒扔向她。不甘心和其他玉女們同一陣線，「Lemon Tree」、「鴨子」、「傻瓜」讓她在20世紀結束前開創新格局。 2024年6月1日，蘇慧倫「生命之花」演唱會終於來到新加坡。經典的K歌、獨樹一幟的節奏、親切零距離的交流⋯⋯ 謝謝姊今晚落力表演。😍😍😍 謝謝YES 933建德台長帶我去聽小時候聽的歌。 請各大活動主辦單位多找933當指定宣傳電台，那我才可以繼續蹭票。謝謝。

Because of my role at #NoonTalkMedia and my relationship with various stakeholders, some will just swipe away, treating this as a biased review with low credibility. Oh well. I’m posting, not because I have to, but because I want to. #TheChosenOne #流氓驱魔师 opens in Singapore and Malaysia today. I really enjoyed myself at the gala two weeks ago. Directed by the renowned Lim Suat Yen, with the formidable Zhang Longmin as executive producer, and featuring a cast from Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan, The Chosen One is about an exorcist who defies destiny because of an unexpected encounter. Against the supernatural theme interspersed with light-hearted banter, this is fundamentally a love story. Such a tale works only if the audience can be convinced and captivated by the protagonists. I think @zijiee and @yaokuo nailed it. I see this as a vehicle to cement Zijie’s leading man status. Pursued by a relentless influencer played by @linxi_angel, he delivered a powerful and compelling performance as a hero contemplating duty while forced to make difficult choices. Well done, you! And of course, @Gurmit.65, the master comedian, triggers laughter effortlessly, while @gadrickchin from Malaysia generated some of the biggest reactions in the theatre. 🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼 曾來台灣跨年、過農曆年、端午、中秋、冬至⋯⋯ 來這裡出席過記者會、演唱會⋯⋯ 主持過音樂頒獎典禮、新車發佈會⋯⋯ 連殯儀館和納骨塔都去了。 所以⋯⋯ 當然要見識一下中華民國選前之夜造勢晚會。國民黨、民進黨都在新北板橋，彼此距離才1.2公里。民眾黨在總統府前的凱達格蘭大道。 先到了新北看藍綠開場，因為深怕散場會被雙方數十萬人馬擠死。然後到凱道，因為走回酒店沒問題。 站在人群中聽主持人催票、候選人拉票、支持者不分男女老少激動地搖旗吶喊⋯⋯ 真的是嘆為觀止。 華人世界最大的民主盛事就在明天。不僅選正副總統和立法委員，更直接影響區域局勢，以及中美對彼此還有對台的姿態。May the best man win! #cruzaway

🇹🇭 Even if you’re not a big fan of Studio Ghibli, you should have watched or at least heard of some of the super classics - like the Academy Award-winning 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐲, the war-themed 𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐥’𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞, or the uber iconic 𝐌𝐲 𝐍𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐨. The World of Studio Ghibli's Animation Exhibition Bangkok at Central World has been extended till 2 Jan 2024. Obviously you’ll only resonate with the characters and scenes from the movies you’ve seen before, but it could be a good chance to get acquainted with titles you haven’t watched. There are two price tiers - the more expensive one gives you a programme booklet and allows you to cut queue at various photography spots. I went on Saturday at lunch time and there was hardly anyone, so don’t waste money at the tail end of this exhibition unless you see a crowd. You can get the booklet at the merchandise area if you want. By the way, that corner is a little sad with very few impulse purchase items. #cruzaway
