I had an amazing time diving into real-life problems and engaging in meaningful discussions with fellow trainers, not just from Singapore this time but also new friends from Qatar. On a lighter note, I discovered that I’m surprisingly good at charades—well, as long as I’m the one guessing and not acting! Stepping into a live studio for the first time feels like stepping onto the stage of a high-stakes performance. The bright lights, the hum of equipment, and the quiet focus of the crew instantly set your nerves on edge. Then comes the question- What do I do now?  For those starting their on-camera journey—or transitioning from print and radio, a leap I know all too well—one of the biggest challenges is juggling multiple demands. Speaking live to multiple cameras and people while taking instructions in one ear, all without missing a beat, is a skill that takes time to master. Add to that the constant stream of well-meaning advice, and it’s easy to feel stuck between knowing what to do and actually delivering it with confidence. That’s why I was so excited to work with the talented individuals at SPH—some whose work I’ve admired for years, others who are peers, and those just beginning their journeys. Together, we delved into the art of on-camera hosting, merging time-honoured live television techniques with a modern, audience-focused approach designed for today’s dynamic digital media landscape. The last time we caught up was more than 10 years ago! @eewurn 大哥 is the person who gave me some of my most important professional opportunities, and now I can’t help feeling nostalgic, digging through old memories. He trusted me to host my first-ever TV fundraising show a little more than a decade ago and, later, an incredible talk show that ran for multiple seasons. The experiences were stressful (being honest here, lol) but also filled with laughter, learning, new friendships, and personal breakthroughs. They shaped so much of who I am today. Life is fragile; it reminds us to cherish the people who cross our paths and the moments we share with them. Fast forward to now, I was sitting across from him, reminiscing about the good old days and laughing over funny moments.
