This yearend winter holidays come with a mission for my family - to learn how to ski. 🎿 Pizza aka snowplough is a very important skill for beginners to grasp and it saved me from falling most times. Every interaction on the skis with the powdery snow was fun, even when falling flat onto it. Going on the chair lift was an exhilarating experience and timing well to get off wasn’t as hard as it seemed. The boys enjoyed going up the chair lift and hitting the slopes. We managed to catch Cayvus coming down the slope. He fell but he got up again, fearless and continued to ski down. Our first family ☃️snowman! @keepxrunningxalfred said that he is a fitness trainer so it must be a lean snowman. Truth was, it was really hard to make it rounder even with the powder snow as it was windy and the snowfall was a little heavy. It was really cold and we felt clumsy. 😆 The boys went on a hunt in the snow and found some leaves and stones. No carrot for the nose, no sticks as the hands. Still, it was satisfying as we enjoyed our snowman building as a family. 😝 #tangholidays2024 #tangboys #firstsnowman

Exploring Niseko using the local bus to get to Milk Kobo was a fun way to see the snowy town. Milk Kobo is a place that first time visitors to Niseko will usually visit for lunch and desserts. The desserts definitely worth a mention first. If you are a fan of dairy products, you will fall in love with the Takahashi farm’s produce. We were spoilt for choice - Hokkaido soft serve ice cream, cream puff, cheese tart , assorted flavoured puddings and the unforgettable yoghurt drink. Eating them while admiring the snow falling added more yums. Lunch was delicious too with freshly made pizza using the restaurant’s home-made cheese. It was prepared in an open kitchen and the boys watched the process attentively. They were impressed with how the chef shaped the dough. Cayvus volunteered to cut the pizza when it was served. While doing that, he was salivating and couldn’t wait to eat them. Ending with chocolate made the day complete. 😋🍕🥛🍦 #tangfulholidays2024 #niseko #milkkobo

Thanks to the boys going for ski lesson, I have some “Me time” with my ❤️ which we rarely have in Singapore.

Hand in hand, always happy together.👫👬 Happy also to catch a glimpse of Mt Yotei. Known affectionately as “Ezo Fuji” due to its resemblance to Mt Fuji, it is one of the 100 Great Mountains in Japan. As it was snowing heavily with not much visibility of this active stratovolcano, we were not pinning much hope to see it. Thankfully, when we were about to leave, the sky cleared up. It truly live up to its name as one of Hokkaido’s most famous mountain. With the beautiful mountain as the backdrop, the boys had their first try at making snow angel. Ohayo! Woke up really early for ONSEN! It was effortless to get the boys out of bed with the help of the view from the room. The boys had their first experience enjoying “Toji”, the practice of relaxing in the geothermally heated, mineral-rich water as a form of therapy. Food trucks! The boys were researching online for our holidays and read up about it. A few articles mentioned that that the trucks would only start business near Christmas period. So when they saw and smelled the food, it got to be our first dinner. The starter - Hokkaido ice cream 🍦😋 it was nice to slowly savour it without worrying that it will melt fast. ❄️ #tangfulholiday2024
