Join us at Blacktail to celebrate National Piña Colada Day! The iconic blended drink we enjoy today was crafted by Ramon Monchito at the Caribe Hilton Hotel in 1954. However, the Piña Colada’s roots may trace back to Cuba, where combinations of Rum, Pineapple, Coconut, Cream, and Sugar were popular long before 1954, including Pineapple Rum (1783), Rum & Pineapple Juice (1824), “Pina Colada - Pineapple juice, ice, sugar, lime and rum” (1922), Pineapple Milk (1934), “Pina Colada- Rum, Pineapple, Coconut Milk” (1950) 📸: @sjberto @prezzato
