GOAN CHORIZ CLAMS GOANARA If I had to put Goa smells in a bottle, it would be these- frying fish, cashew trees, salty sea, fish markets and GOAN CHORIZ or the famous Goan Sausage!!! The Portuguese brought their spicy sausages to Goa and of course, in the gorgeous melting pot of the world, spices & toddy vinegar were added to make it truly Goan! Today, this tradition is carried on by Philu and her daughter Janet, who sit in Mapusa market, in the Choriz corner and are supremely confident of their wares! My friend Cybele used to make a Spaghetti Goanara like a Marinara, this recipe is inspired by her, by an old favorite I learnt when i worked at @sublimegoa and inspired by these lovely Choriz ladies, passing down secret recipes from generation to generation (something I hope we are all doing with our children too!) Goan Choriz Clams Goanara Ingredients 2 cups chorizo - cut into small cubes 1 big bowl - small clams / tisrya or mussels 5-6 garlic pods, sliced ¼ cup goan vinegar Salt and pepper 3-4 basil sprigs 10-15 cherry tomato or 4-5 regular tomatoes, diced 200 gm spaghetti Method PEEL AND CUT - peel the chorizo from its casing , cut into small bite sized pieces. CLEAN - the tisrya / clams in water thoroughly, remove any grit and sand COOK - in a pan , add chorizo, till it releases its spiced oil. Add garlic, tomatoes and let it cook for 10 minutes. Add cleaned clams and goan vinegar, salt & pepper, cover with a lid and shake till clams open. NOTE - do not eat the clams that are still shut!! ADD - the cooked spaghetti and toss GARNISH - with basil leaves #chefchinuvaze #chefrecipes #quickrecipes #homemade #goa #thewesternghat #momblogger #babyknowsbest #choriz #goan #chorizo #mapusa #trendinginmapusa #clams #spaghetti #chorizopower

#TrendinginMapusa today… Is this maushi whose daughter showed her my viral reel where she is one of the main stars and she was so happy hehehehe!!! Also! Winter (what 20 degrees centigrade is SO winter!) is here and mornings are fresh and chilly and walking through the market I see the first signs of Christmas celebrations (a super special time in Goa with special sweets and snacks and feasts and carols). On my way walk I saw kohlrabi or as it’s called KulKul ?? which honestly I’m not very sure how to eat! I told the local limboo lady that everyone on Insta said she had hustled me (3 limboo for 100 bucks) so she gave me 10 limboo for 100 hahahaha! There were baby mooli whose leaves looked really yum and I wonder what you can make from them. Also I’ve never been a fan of mooli paratha but I do love daikon on dashi 😬 I’ve also never actually eaten the sweet version of Petha but it’s looks really interesting! Anyone know how to make it at home? Banana Flower is one of the most beautiful ingredients I’ve ever seen.. and the process of using it is so feminine and slow and gorgeous. I would use it just to meditate! But I do like it like a tempura pakoda! A quick visit to the Poee market (I just love Goa, how cool to have a lane just for bread!). I had also never seen these type of kadak bagel poee before! Now apparently, this Pascal Bakery is THE place to buy your sweets like dodol and bebinca! And a lot of you carry them all over the world! And then there was Janice who was taught how to make Goan Sausage or Choriz by her mum (who was also sitting right there). Markets are incredibly sensual, sacred, grounding places. I would love to know how you make any of these ingredients and also what do you see around you when you are in the winter market? Tell me!!! On that note, where are the winter carrots man! #chefchinuvaze #goa #thewesternghat #momblogger #mapusamarket #trendinginmapusa #wintermarket #wintervegetables #trendingreel

MORNING CORTISOL DRINK + ADRENAL BURNOUT FATIGUE ANXIETY! What have we women done to ourselves! As we get older and our metabolism slows and our hormones think they are at a non-stop rave with uppers and downers We MUST slow down and take time to really understand our bodies and what we want from life! Right?? Right! Your adrenal glands sit on top of your kidney and make those fightercock hormones Cortisol & Adrenaline! I’m currently going through v.serious peri menopause symptoms (I check everything on those ‘do you have symptoms like these’ lists including night sweats, anxiety, heart palpitations and my last blood work showed my cortisol was off the charts. And whenever I feel like this, COFFEE makes me feel like I’m going to have a panic attack (even though I put MCT oil & mushroom powder in it!) So when I saw this Cortisol Morning Tonic on @itsnicolejaques page (I’ve modified it a bit) and when SO many of you asked me for the recipe, I realised we are ALL IN THE SAME ADRENAL CRASH BOAT! Which comes from trying to do it all, have it all, control it all, smash it all, hit it out of the park, be a #girlboss, be a fantastic mom etc. Also Vit C + Zinc is v. Good for adrenals as is Magnesium + Ashwa to sleep (pls always do your bloody work & check with a doc before you start any supplements). I’m off for a 5 day ALL WOMEN tantra retreat to try and ground, connect, slow down and start taking pleasure in the juiciness of each moment. MORNING CORTISOL DRINK Ingredients MORNING CORTISOL PRE-MIX ¼ cup Haldi powder ¼ cup Cinnamon Powder ¼ cup Ginger powder ¼ cup Fennel seeds 1 tbsp pink salt MORNING CORTISOL DRINK 1tsp Pre-Mix 2 cups Hot water 1 whole lemon (juiced) 1 cap Apple Cider Vinegar 1 tbsp Honey (don’t put in boiling water/ very hot water!) RESPIRATORY MULETHI OR JYESHTAMADH OR LICORICE TULSI NEEM HONEY! Ughhhh I’m SICK OF FALLING SICK ON PLANES AFTER VACATIONS growl grumble mumble. I remembered I had bought some Mulethi/ LICORICE/ Jyeshtamadh sticks from Mapusa which not only soothes coughs and colds but also is an ADAPTOGEN (yay!) and combats stress! Ace! I usually make a chatan paste with all the usual suspects- turmeric, honey, ghee, cardamom, ginger etc but this time the heroines are LICORICE & TULSI leaves, remember what they say- a tulsi leaf a day keeps the doctor away. I have a feeling that my general toxic load after all the indulgences over Xmas & NYE got a bit too much for my body and it usually just collapses as a way to FORCE ME TO REST. Which I am. And this Neem Honey by @sattvicfoods is a new discovery, but also eucalyptus honey or Manuka honey would do the trick! I hope that if you feel sick there is someone you can complain too and ask for cuddles. And remember - REST IS A WEAPON!! P.s- Zanu tried it and asked why it was so sweet which is a win 🐈⬛ RESPIRATORY TULSI MULETHI HONEY 2 tbsp Mulethi/ Licorice Powder 20 tulsi leaves, crushed or 1 tbsp tulsi leaf powder 2 tbsp haldi/ turmeric 2 tbsp dried ginger powder 1 tsp cardamom powder 1 tsp cinnamon powder 1/4 th tsp black pepper powder 1 tsp coconut/ MCT oil or ghee METHOD CRUSH- tulsi leaves. Blitz mulethi sticks and strain for a fine powder. MIX- all powders & honey. STORE- in an airtight container #coughremedy #homemade #ayurvedic #respiratory #flu #immunity

The first word out of Zanu’s mouth every morning is DUDU!! And here is what I truly believe- if your kid thrives on dairy, the best thing you can do for them is to look for the BEST MILK OUT THERE- single origin (that means everything done under one roof), fresh & local!! Here are the most import ant questions to ask- 1. Where is your milk coming from? Think about it- a tetrapak of milk can sit for months (!!) at room temperature! Look for milk that reaches you hours after milking, not months!! 2. What do the cows eat? So, so important!! One of the main reasons I love @prideofcowsindia milk is because the cows grass from their farm grown in organic manure! 3. Are the cows hormone & antiobiotic free? What the cows eat and are injected with obviously comes into the milk. 4. Do they treat the cows nicely? A very important question, especially to connect the dots with children. The POC cows have their own mattresses and even have music therapy sessions! I mean, it’s not just milk, but the whole gamut of good quality butter, yogurt, kefir, cheese, paneer, buttermilk which is firstly delicious and also a great nutrition source (especially for vegetarians!). I truly believe that if we start connecting the dots to where our food is coming from, like with @prideofcowsindia Single Origin Milk, it will create the true food revolution we are all waiting for!! p.s- if your ethics prevent you from consuming dairy, that is your choice and I respect that just like you should respect mine 🙏🏽 #chefchinuvaze #prideofcows #collab

When papa shows you the mountains he grew up in on New Year’s Morning…. I forget that no matter how comfortable Chris is in India and especially our wonderful life in Goa, he is a mountain boy. This trip has been super special because there is this side of Switzerland with all the snow and skiing and winter specials that only Chris can share with Z, because this is how he grew up. He would sled down on the snow to school, learnt how to ski when he was 3 years old, knows exactly what kind of snow you won’t slip and fall on, which snow is good for snowballs, which slopes are good for skiing, which cheese is good for eating and most important- that special mix of DNA that comes from being born in the Alpes. Snowy white Swiss family Christmas, super super grateful to all our Swiss fam & friends for making it so special. It snowed for Christmas after 10 years!! How lucky are we ❄️ ⛄️ 🎿 🇨🇭 #fathersanddaughters

I will always remember 2024 as the year of healing. I ended 2023 burnt out, stressed out, body breaking down, hormones going totally crazy and really depressed. I felt like I was rushing all the time, I felt totally out of control of my life, work, relationships and like I was failing myself and everyone else. I decided 2024 is going to the a year of reclaiming my life. A year of healing, empowering, awakening, nourishing & sustaining. January started with actually taking time off at the very start of the year, to travel with Chris, go for a music festival (and @coldplay !) February kicked off the heart healing, with an intention of healing my female lineage, especially that which connects my daughter, my mother and me and female relationships, with plant medicine in a deeply spiritual, collective setting. March was a deep dive into sustainability and how to live off the land with our Permaculture Diploma Certificate, which not only gave us ideas for how to build a house of the future but also how the future of humanity & this earth could look. April led to long summer holidays, going to various alternative & functional medicine doctors to figure out what the hell was happening with my hormones. Perimenopause was the tiger I needed to learn to ride. July was my first ever solo holiday ever to Bali. Explorations into who I was, what I wanted from life and connections around me. August kicked off even deeper healing work, really understanding why therapy was working so well for me, how a compassionate, trained therapist can make you unbox so many patterns and layers of the onion. September, October, November- more healing work- working with different modalities from accupuncture for hormones to womb healing with angels and masters, deep forgiveness work, forgiving myself, uncovering why certain patterns keep repeating especially with my mother and female friends December culminated with this wonderful women’s tantra retreat where the whole year of healing started to make sense, deep deep letting go of traumas and to understand how much we women need safe containers for our healing. 2025 is going to be a totally new vibe, I become a student again.

My tantra retreat had a weird effect on me. I suddenly didn’t feel like waking up to meditate. Or do yoga. Or take any of my superfoods or supplements. Or make sure my meals were gut healthy or full of complex carbs and good fats. There was something about approaching the end of the year in full attention to PLEASURE AND REST that just appealed to me. This year has been a year of transformation, transition and healing for me. Which means not being so hard on myself, canceling shit when I’m feeling overwhelmed and listening to my heart & body. And sometimes my body says- eat chips. And I do. Ever since I started listening to my womb for advice, I’ve been taking kinder and more restful actions. Do I think I should be putting whiskey in my coffee every morning? Hell no! But right now, in the snow and fluffy clothes and warming foods of winter, it feels just about right! I hope you are resting and pleasuring yourself too! Kisses from slow, languid, often drunk, pretty happy me! Just eat the cake! We will start all our cortisol balancing, hormone regulating, gut health strengthening, muscle building activities in Jan ok! Tell me one slow, pleasurable thing you’ve eaten or done in the holidays!

You know marriage is like a snow sled ride... Just when it’s gathering speed and getting into its groove, there is a kid and sometimes another kid, that make you slow down and get serious, but as that kid learns to go down the mountain on their own, you discover that you can start having FUN again! Discovering things about Chris in the winter that I never knew in the summer! Also, Switzerland is like a fairy wonderland in the winter!! @myswitzerlandin

Snowy Winter Wonderland Xmas dump. This is the first time we are in Chris’s village Leysin for Christmas and it couldn’t be more magical! And we are going skiing today for the first time!! I’m super hungover so no long caption but I feel well fed and well loved and I hope all of you feel the same ❤️🎅🏼🤸♀️

MY TOP 3 FESTIVE PANJIM PICKS (and Kardashian-esque festive looks)!! I love Panjim! Anyone who thought Goa is only about raves and flea markets, think again! Fontainhas is one of my favorite areas to walk around in, you could easily believe you are in Lisboa or Havana! Also, dare I say I look like a Kardashian in that red dress! And a sixteen year old in the green. And ready for my martini in this slinky, shiny jumpsuit! All outfits from the festive collection by @westsidestores 1. Go have a Pastel De Nata Custard Tart at @padaria_prazeres - owned by Ralf & Stacy, home to the most famous Pastel De Nata / Portuguese Custard Tart in Goa, notorious for the lines and running out of what you really, really want. Similar to all those amazing little hole in the wall places all over the world who make one or two things SO WELL that people are willing to wait for good food!! 2. Eat a Hot Honey Fried Chicken Donut at @larderandfolkgoa - & it’s AMAZING CHEF @priyankasardessai will always be my OG place in Panjim to get anything baked. But the iconic dish here, even more than the sweet donuts (triple berry cheesecakeeee) is the HOT HONEY FRIED CHICKEN DONUT which is SO GOOD that you almost faint after your first bite. I also usually faint just in the face of this massive talent that Priyanka has! 3. Drink an Espresso Martini at @miguelsgoa - whenever Chris and I want to have a sophisticated date night, we head to Miguel’s with its beautiful lighting and delicious steak tartare and open kitchen and lethal Espresso Martinis! As fun to start your day out at Fontainhas as to end it, definitely my top festive pick in Panjim. Which look of mine do you like best??? #chefchinuvaze #goa #westsidestores #westsideindia #trendingreels #christmas #fontainhas #collab
