The New Orleans shotgun: each room aligned like train cars…straight from front to back! …fire a shot through the front door and it exits the back (hence the name)!! But that's not what this is about! It's about efficiency meets style, meets Southern charm!! This goes to show that you don’t have to have an extravagant home for it to be amazing...for it to have the potential to be beautiful, stylish and personal. And an entire vibe! This particular shotgun design has a side hallway with windows which I love! The iconic architecture style of this style of home is all about making small spaces feel expansive through flow and intentional design. And one of my fave ways to make a small space pop is with color, texture and regular sized furniture! I don’t really like to use “apartment size” furniture! To me, it emphasizes the small size of the space even more! I’d rather use one regular size sofa as opposed to a compact size sofa and chairs! And speaking of intentional design, the burnt orange/rust fringe pendant light over the banquette area is so fabulous and affordable! It’s available at the Style Loft. The inground pool! • ALL the art, brass and texture! Fun fact! - the Garden District was built after the Louisiana Purchase by Americans who wanted their homes to GRANDER than the French Quarter. Anne Rice literally wrote vampire novels inspired by these streets. The history is quite interesting! Low light spilling over marble and velvet like it has nowhere else to be. Because it doesn’t. This is your world. Curated to the last detail. With the richness of the swankiest hotel ambience and detail… Window trim painted in matte black. Oxblood velvet against inky walls. Brass catching the light like it’s showing off.
