What is Circular Salutogenic Design? House of Grey has a completely unique approach to interior design - one that takes into consideration and prioritises the health of humans and the planet in equal measure. We share our guiding principles and why it’s such an important approach for the future of design in our most recent journal piece. Link in bio to read. Held, then gone. Time moves like sand - soft, constant, impossible to hold onto for long. The more tightly we grasp, the more it slips through. There is a quiet reminder here: to soften, to release, to trust the passing. Not everything is meant to stay - some things are only meant to be felt. In the letting go, we find presence. In the fleeting, we find meaning. Photography via ROOT + BONES. . . . #interiordesign #interiorstyling #healthyhome #innovationdesign #naturalarchitecture

A space that feels both grounded and alive. At its centre, a long bar stretches through the room - raw steel, solid oak, and soft reflections catching the changing light. It draws you in, encouraging a slower moment, a place to sit, connect, and look outward. Above, oversized chandeliers soften the height, casting a warm, ambient glow as day turns to evening. Around them, layers of light and linen bring a quiet sense of comfort - balancing the strength of concrete and steel with something more tactile, more human. It’s a space shaped by contrast, but held together by feeling - where material, memory, and atmosphere come together with ease. Design: Black Crocodile Bar by @wiercinskistudio. Pause. Reflect. Connect. People-pleasing looks like kindness. It feels like keeping the peace. But somewhere underneath all those yeses is a version of you that’s exhausted, resentful, and slowly disappearing. In this episode, @louisagrey and @mahala_london get into why we do it, what it’s actually costing us, and the moment you realise the pattern has been running the show for far longer than you’d like to admit. We talk about shrinking, over-giving, the music you stopped listening to, and what happens when you finally start saying no - and mean it. Because real kindness starts with yourself. And you have nothing to lose in speaking your truth. Link in bio to listen to the latest episode. Earth, in its purest form. The work of @eleanorherbosch explores the quiet dialogue between material and gesture. Using clay as both medium and pigment, her pieces are built from the ground up - literally - through layers of soil, ink, and intuition. Each composition holds a delicate balance: raw textures meet moments of stillness, where untouched areas of natural earth invite pause. Patterns emerge, dissolve, and reappear - echoing landscapes, erosion, and time. An exploration of tactility and silence, where material leads and meaning follows. Where ritual meets rhythm. @arccommunity_ by @cake.architecture reimagines wellness as a shared, immersive experience - set within Canary Wharf and home to the UK’s largest sauna. Designed around contrast therapy, the space moves between heat and cold, stillness and intensity, creating a physical and sensory reset. A sequence of rooms unfolds with intention: from communal changing spaces to a circular lounge, plunge pools, and a 65-person sauna. Materials remain consistent yet expressive - terracotta, deep-blue tiles, wood, and metal - balancing warmth with weight, tactility with atmosphere. Echoing both ancient bathhouses and the energy of the dance floor, Arc blurs the line between wellness and nightlife. A place to gather, disconnect, and return - together. ELLIPSE COLLECTION House of Grey x Armadillo A sensory foundation, shaped by intention. This collection created in collaboration with @armadilloandco, is guided by our principle of Circular Salutogenic Design - using natural materials that support human health throughout their life cycle and return gently to the earth. Designed with the moon as its muse, each piece reflects a quiet rhythm of texture and tone. From raw jute to wool, to a silk and wool blend, every fibre is ethically sourced and Declare* labelled - chosen for its unique sensory quality underfoot. More than an object, these rugs are designed as a foundation for daily life - for pause, for ritual, for reflection. A tactile connection to nature, grounded in conscious materiality and long-term thinking. Purchase well. Purchase once. Pieces that evolve with time and are made to last. A composition of fragments, made whole. Zellige is a patchwork textile artwork shaped by hand at every stage - where process becomes presence. Crafted from woollen fabric scraps, naturally dyed with henna, walnut bark, and madder root, each piece carries the depth of its origin. Every square is cut and perforated by hand, forming an irregular rhythm that feels both instinctive and intentional. Assembled onto canvas, pre-painted with natural ochres, the final work holds a quiet balance between structure and spontaneity. An exploration of texture, tone, and time - where nothing is wasted, and everything is transformed. Stay aligned with your energy, and let people meet you there. Not everything needs to be chased, explained, or adjusted. What’s meant for you will recognise you - without force. A quiet balance of contrasts. @noii.milano, in Milan’s Moscova district, redefines adaptive reuse - bringing together a minimalist tea house and a pilates studio within a single, fluid space. Designed by @aim.studio, the project embraces what already exists, allowing the building’s past to remain present. Raw surfaces, traces of its former life, and original volumes are not erased but elevated. A single horizontal line anchors the interior. Below, smooth resin surfaces feel grounded and tactile. Above, rough lime plaster softens into light and atmosphere. The result is a subtle tension - weight and air, structure and stillness - held in careful equilibrium. Inspired by Japanese spatial philosophy, NOÏ becomes more than a place - it’s an experience of pause, movement, and quiet coexistence.
