The only thing Ayla asked for Christmas was an 80s-themed JCPenney photo shoot—and it did not disappoint! 🤣😂 These turned out amazing! Some of the really good ones were too big to fit on ig 🙃

12 pps for a good clean working set on the belt squat today! It feels great to really start trusting my quad under load again😁 Seems like the only thing that really messes with my adductor bad is the hack squat.. but I love hack squats 🙃

The was my last of 3 working sets with the 120s into a rest pause. Then a back down set with the 90s. FLIP THE SWITCH! WORK TO DO

“The path to self-discovery is less about finding yourself and more about returning to the parts of you that were always there.” This quote really jumped out at me today during my morning reading. The person you strive to be is already inside you, the work just has to be done to unveil your potential. 2024 wasn’t the year I thought it would be, but it was the year I needed. Struggles are blessings in disguise.. Each one’s a chance to dig deeper and bring out what’s real. Face them head on, and let the pressure forge a diamond. It’s about taking what life throws at you and turning it into fuel to become unstoppable. This journey isn’t just about growth. It’s about stepping into who I’ve always been meant to be. WORK TO DO! 💪🏻

Here’s a little throwback to the heaviest I’ve ever been—284 lbs, with glute lines holding on for dear life and the food baby seemed permanent! 😂 This was my final check-in after probably the most intense off-season rebound I’ve ever done. It was just 10 weeks post-2022 nationals, where I finished in 11th place as a heavyweight at around 221 lbs on stage. I’ll never forget calling @justinrcompton right after stepping off stage, and we immediately got to work on the game plan to make sure that wouldn’t be my outcome the next year. It’s gonna look a lot different when I get back there soon! WORK TO DOOOOOO People don’t often tell you about the reality of being XXL: taking your shirt off is a struggle, putting on your seatbelt is a challenge, putting on your shoes feels like a workout, wiping is… complicated, and breathing is a whole new level of hard! 😂🤣

This is really starting to annoy the piss out of me. First movement of the day, I start with a 45 and knock out 12 reps, adding a 45 each set until I can’t hit 12 anymore. I hit 5 pps so smoothly today, and this set was moving perfectly. But as soon as I start grinding out reps on squat movements, I end up straining my right adductor—ever since I got on that damn mechanical bull 9 MONTHS AGO. It doesn’t seem too serious, but it completely threw off the rest of my session. I’m going to stick with 5 plates per side for a while and really focus on a slow negative. Damn you, mechanical bull!
