Here comes Santy Claus - that’s what Gene Autry seems to call him in his song and that’s what my Granddaddy always called him too! This is this year’s version of Santas-in-a-Box #santasinabox started by Jennifer @sharedbelongings a few years ago. My favorite is the vintage Knickerbocker Santa Baby leaning out of the box in the middle. The Santa floating up top appears to be levitating above the stuffed-full box hoping to squeeze in. The rustic vintage green Zip Bottling Co soda box is from @jensfreshvintage . All the stuffed Santa’s are rubber faced and from midcentury! The four little Santa’s in the front are actually midcentury string light covers. And the small one front bottom right is a vintage rolly polly baby toy with chimes. Well I’m babysitting (keeping company) with my youngest grandson, so not home to put together a vignette. I’m running out of time - have lots of ideas, but family comes first and is most important- so posting a throwback pic from my phone today. Here I’ve used my vintage snowman metal tree holder with a variety of my vintage snowman figures and my vintage picnic tins. Wasn’t everything more detailed and colorful back midcentury!? You don’t find tree stands like these anymore unless vintage. I actually have several more in different patterns! It’s party time! Who’s ready for a little Christmas cheer punch! Remember the green sherbet punch we all had at parties years ago - I actually loved it! It was only two ingredients:1 tub of lime sherbet and 1 2-liter of lemon lime soda. Mix and even the kids can enjoy it! Does anyone still make it? Hope you have some fun holiday parties this year! Time to chop down the tree! Did you ever do this? As a child we looked forward to going to the tree lot attached to our grocery store to pick out our tree. We looked at so many tall, full trees and then we got the one we could afford - shorter and thinner with at least one good side! It always looked perfect though, once we decorated it with those big bulbed strings of lights, delicate glass ornaments and tons of icicles CAREFULLY put on the tree a couple strands at a time (never thrown on the tree!) Santa Claus is coming to town - have you been naughty or nice? The good news is there’s still time to make the nice list, so be kind, giving, honest, and respectful. DID YOU KNOW: there is an actual list you can look up with your kids so they can see if they are on the nice list.
