Getting a few things done before picking our daughter up from the airport today. Although this is supposed to be a season of “Merry” and “jolly” and “ho-ho-ho”, Many people have something going on in their lives that feels the opposite of “Merry”. And yet, we continue with our preparations with glad hearts because we know in spite of our hardships and struggles, our grief and our losses, we are loved beyond our imaginations. This is the true spirit of this season. So go ahead and cry if you need to, but smile when you are through because you are never truly alone. When we set expectations too high we run the risk of putting off entertaining completely and we add undo stress that just isn’t necessary. We also run the risk of setting the expectations so high that we prevent our friends and family from feeling comfortable reciprocating the hospitality. If you don’t have time to iron a tablecloth…Don’t! If you don’t have time to make or extra funds to buy a centerpiece…don’t. In just five minutes I set this table using colorful dishes from @v_vancasso I love these dishes because they are so vibrant and full of life and when placed on the table they provide all the color and warmth I could ask for! I love the way each person gets a different pattern, making them a wonderful conversation starter and matching my #eclecticdecor I don’t feel the need to even worry about a table cloth because I think they are so fun on their own!! Time to reveal a secret…..If you look closely in this video you may notice, my silverware doesn’t even match. I never worry about that! No one has ever noticed and if they have…who cares! I didn’t have a fancy centerpiece, so I grabbed some fruit from the fridge, a few mints, pinecones and cookie cutters and scattered them around and finally lit my candles which are always available! I love the durability and quality of these beautiful dishes and love that they are dishwasher, microwave and oven safe! They are a fabulous everyday set and would make a wonderful gift!!!
