🍃 I love this old bench at the table, but truth be told, it’s not the most comfortable. It’s a bit too high, and… it’s really creaky. It’s a pretty old bench, so that’s to be expected ( and I kind of love the creakiness #character). So, what’s a girl to do?! Would you keep it because it looks good? Or go with the functionality of something else? In our new home the dining room will have a bank of windows. I can picture the bench on one side…. 🤎 snippets of home This has all been packed up and stored for two years or sent off to different places to be enjoyed in a new home. I’m SO looking forward to the day when I get to open the sea container, unload all of it and play until I find the right place for everything or get nauseous trying. Here she is!! SweetCreek Cottage. We had a change of plans. Quite literally. (Swipe to see the original plan.) A few months ago we went over our house build budget and realized very quickly that we had to make some changes. Mr.P and I are determined not to go into debt with this house build. Our goal is to be mortgage free. When we started adding up costs to build our home, it was clear we needed to make some serious cuts. I’m a bargain hunter, so finding deals on interior stuff isn’t the issue. It’s the cost of building supplies and the labor associated. We plan to do most of the build ourselves. (Of course, when I say that, I mean Tony will be doing most of it and I will be helping. He’s both the brains and the brawn.) Of course there are some aspects of the build we won’t be doing ourselves. Framing, drywall, roofing… but the rest will be on us. It will take longer this way, but I’m not looking at that as a detriment. It will give us time to really think through our decisions and invest our hearts and our time into our home. Anyway, back to the plan changes. We decided to delete the breezeway and garage from the plan and just do a carport in a different location. The Lord turned this into a blessing, of course. Now, instead of looking out and seeing the wall of the garage, we’ll have a beautiful view. He really does work all things for good. Blessings abundant!! 🤍🍃

✨ It’s tradition… Quite a few years ago, I started putting my collection of bells in one of my antique wood bowls. Every year since, I’ve had a bowl of bells at Christmas time. One year I got crazy and used this antique potato basket. I loved it! Livin on the edge, I tell ya. 😂 Which is your favorite? 🔔 Blessings abundant! 🤍✨

✨ Have you made paper snowflakes yet? They’re so fun and easy to make! I have a highlight saved that shows how to make them. ❄️ Just a little warning though: Once you start, you’ll want to keep making them. And, a little tip… if you use tape instead of glue to connect the ends together, you can fold them up and use them again! Don’t tell the other crocks, but this old 1 1/2 is my favorite. 🤫 I remember when I found it. I was selling at an antique show and had just taken a break. As I was walking back to my booth, I spotted it. Perched atop an old ladder. My heart started racing. I’m pretty sure everything went into slow motion and the theme from Chariots of Fire started playing. I couldn’t get to it fast enough. 🏃🏼‍♀️ I was sure someone else would casually walk up and take it while I was running toward it. But, no! I reached my prize with no hurdles, no obstacles and no antique hunters in my path. I had never seen a 1 1/2 before. I know now, it’s a cake crock. I’ve never attempted to make a cake in it, but I do quite enjoy it filled with candles! 🕯️ Blessings abundant!! 🤎✨ Do you have a story about finding a favorite thing? Please share! 🤎 When Princess Pillow Squisher gets comfy… (swipe to see) Gracie Girl used to love laying on the bench in the entryway. That pillow was her favorite. I’m not sure where she’ll pick to be her favorite spot in the new house, but she can’t jump up like she used to, so, my guess is, something closer to the ground will be her choice. Bless her heart. She’s 14 1/2. Getting old is rough. (Don’t I know it?! 😂) Thanksgiving is just a few days away!! What’s your favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving? Blessings abundant! 🧡🍂
