‘How can you live in Newcastle and not drink?’ 🍷 It’s quite easy, really. I stopped drinking alcohol about 18 months ago and I don’t miss it in the slightest. I had my party days when I was in my 20’s and I’m past that part of my life. Alcohol doesn’t do anything for me apart from give me anxiety and a headache. So I just stopped. No big deal. And I’m much happier for it. The idea that Newcastle is only fun if you’re on the lash is such an outdated mindset. We have an amazing city, in an amazing region. It’s just about what you appreciate or enjoy. There are so many lovely walks, great restaurants, cultural attractions and ways to get into new hobbies around here. I’m finding new things all the time! Not to mention, I bloody love a cosy night in on the couch! 🤣 So, for me, not drinking alcohol has been super easy because I’ve found happiness in other things.
