Welp. I honestly can’t believe I finally get to make this post. This quilt was accepted into Quiltcon. 😱😱 I can’t believe it. I’ve tried for so long, got the lovely “thanks but no thanks” email over and over and over. So much so that I quit entering. I was defeated. And then this year my friends encouraged to me to try again and I’m so glad I begrudgingly listened. I was 1000000000% ready to read the reject email this morning. Instead, I was stunned to see a “congratulations” email. Say whaaaat?!? I still can’t believe it. I’m ☠️☠️. • • • A huge shout out to my amazing mom for piecing it. She always helps me figure out how to make my crazy ideas come to life. I’m so happy she’ll be here visiting and we’ll be able to see it hanging in person. 🩷🩷 Love you mom! • • • I quilted it on my AMAZING @innovalongarm, Estelle. I couldn’t do what I do without my machine. She’s my bestie for sure. 🩷🩷 • • • To all my friends who got the “thanks but no thanks” email, it will be ok. I know how devastating it feels. Don’t give up trying! Keep creating and keep entering. It might not take you 9 years like it did me. 😆😆😆😆 Maybe it’ll only be 7.5 years. Be proud that you entered. It’s a hard thing to do especially when the odds for getting accepted aren’t very good. 🩷🩷

Join in on our first holiday quilt donation drive. We are collecting finished quilts from now until December 13, in order to have them ready for receiving organizations for the holidays. Any size quilt is welcome. Donating a quilt is a perfect way to offer comfort to others who very much need it, and also a way for us to move those projects.
