There’s food, and then there’s Udaipur food—a culinary journey that feels like pure magic in every bite! ✨ Let me take you through my foodie adventure in this gorgeous city: Day 1: We kicked off at @athenasudaipur located near Lake Pichola. This lakeside gem serves not just views but unforgettable dishes. Lunch was at @krishnadalbatiudaipur a cozy spot near Chetak Circle. Perfect for a traditional Rajasthani lunch. In the evening, we stopped by @panditjikilemontea near Fatehsagar Lake. It’s a small stall, but the lemon tea? Life-changing! Tangy, sweet, and soothing—a warm hug in a cup. Dinner was all about street food at Sukhadia Circle, a vibrant food hub in the heart of Udaipur. Day 2: The next morning, we headed to Bahubali Hills, a popular hiking spot with stunning views of Badi Lake. ⛰️ After the climb, we rewarded ourselves with steaming hot Maggi from a small stall at the top. It’s simple, comforting, and somehow tastes better with that view. For lunch, we discovered ghati_pe_restaurant a hidden gem near Ambamata Temple. Their mutton dungar is smoky, tender, and full of flavor—don’t miss it! We wrapped up the trip with dinner at @upreby1559ad located on the terrace of Lake Pichola Hotel. Dining here feels like a dream—imagine gazing at the sparkling city lights over Pichola Lake. Every meal in Udaipur felt like a celebration of flavors and culture. I’m obsessing over the rain of maroon over my feed and all the tinkerbells of Christmas festivities happening all over the world (while I wipe away my sweat in kochi 🥲) It’s taking me back to my solo trip to New York for Christmas. It had been in my bucket list forever and I am and will always be so so grateful that I was able to give myself that experience. From Rockefeller tree, mulled wine, egg nog, Santa day, grand central station, a hot ramen on a blizzard day, learning mixology, making new friends, the Brooklyn bridge, going to the Seth Meyers show, it was all so magical. But I was in a very dark place mentally during this trip. What pictures don’t tell you is how I spiraled out of control and @shwetavijaynair kept me company on video call for hours daily. I was in love with yet another a$$h0!3 and I just couldn’t bear the toxicity after getting over the pain of a divorce. Yet, when you’re in a bad relationship, you just can’t see it no? And until you heal that trauma, you seek out very similar toxic traits in your future partners. So strange how the light shines only when you’re finally out of it! Isn’t it crazy how wildly your life changes Christmas to Christmas? When you’re in the deep end you don’t think you will be out of it, looking back at it from distant future some day! Anyhusie, I always travel for Christmas, that was my escape plan. To be alone during merriment because I hadn’t healed from the divorce. But this year I decided to stay home. Indulge in the love and warmth of my friends and family. No tree or festivities in my house, I still need a few more years to reach there. But this ends my long Christmas rant. Day 1 in Jaipur had me completely fall in love with the Pink City! Also, who would’ve imagined a Turkish Hamam in a 290 year old Rajastani Fort 😶‍🌫️ Also also please stop elephant rides 💔 I actually saw a foreigner tell off people sitting on the elephant saying “please don’t support this, it’s not good” not a single one of our people stood against the rides. Infact I saw so many of our people going for elephant & camel rides. I’m not going to explain here why it’s bad.. but I highly urge you to give a quick google search about these animal rides.
