•After and Before Upland 17 Wood Stove• Recently we had another beautiful and compact Upland Model 17 woodstove make its way into the shop. These stoves were essentially the same as the Jotul 602 of the same time, except these were made right here in the USA. More specifically, Greene NY in the late 1970s/early 80s. This old stove came to us in pretty good shape, short of missing all its internal parts. So we got right to just breaking the stove down to all its pieces and inspecting them closer. After which we got everything prepped for sandblasting, and ordered up the new internals. After sandblasting we did final inspections to find that everything was in great shape. Next we started paint prep and got to painting with our favorite, Thurmalox High Temp Stove Paint, in Satin Black. After the main body of the stove was assembled, all we had left was to rebuild and fit the door. Then get all the new parts prepped and fit into the stove. After everything is said and done, we have another awesome Made In America Upland stove to be proud of! The only person more excited on how it turned out was the client when I delivered it back to them! I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Thank you everyone who took the time to read this post. And thank you everyone who follows my journeys here at the shop, and thank you to everyone who keeps bringing me awesome pieces of history to save! You are all amazing! • • • • • • • • • #history #craftsmanship #supportlocal #workshop #craftsman #smallbusiness #jotul #woodstoves #castiron #woodstove #beforeandafter #vermont #localbusiness

•After and Before Jotul F3 Wood Stove• As it goes, we had another Jotul F3 Woodstove make its way into the shop. Easily in the top 3 stove models that I rebuild. If you follow the page here you see I rebuild a lot of these little stoves! And thats ok, they are one of my favorite modern stoves, smaller and versatile and can kick out a good amount of heat! And as it normally is, this stove came in pretty beat up. Enamel was fading badly and the internals were just toasted. After we got the stove completely taken apart and sandblasted we put the parts back on the bench for inspection. And the sandblasting did show us we had a very small crack forming on the back plate, so we got to ordering a whole new back for the stove, as well as all the internal parts. Next of course was painting, which we did with only the finest Thurmalox High Temp Stove Paint, Satin Black. And then it was just a matter of assembling the stove back to factory specs, rebuilding the door, and fitting all the new internals and parts! After all is said and done, we have another F3 looking beautiful, ready for its next 20 years of service! And another happy client amazed with the results! As always, thank you all for reading and following me and my journeys here at my shop. I appreciate you all for the wonderful feedback, comments, shares, and of course for all the wonderful stoves you keep bringing me to save! • • • • • • • • #jotul #craftsman #history #workshop #supportlocal #craftsmanship #smallbusiness #woodstoves #castiron #woodstove #beforeandafter #vermont #localbusiness

•After and Before Cawley LeMay Wood Stove• Once again we had an amazing Cawley LeMay 400 woodstove make its way into the shop over the summer. A very nice local gentleman from Vermont had it for many years and it was overdue for a full rebuild. If you have been following my page you know that Cawley's are easily in my top 3 favorite vintage stove brands, in history and craftsmanship! They were designed in Boyertown, Pennsylvania by Bob Cawley, an engineer. His wife Martha Cawley, an artist, sculpted all the patterns for the stunning bas-relief sides of each model. All 5 models they designed had different wildlife scenes on them! After we took the stove apart bolt by bolt, and got it sandblasted, we got it back on the work bench and started our next round of inspections. We were very pleased to find out the stove was overall in great shape! Next we got the surface prep done and got to painting! As always we only use Industry Grade Thurmalox High Temp Stove Paint, this time in Satin Black. Lastly we got to assembling the stove back to factory specs and rebuilding the door. Double checking every step as we go to ensure the best possible fit and look for each part. After all was said and done, we have another stunning example of a mid 70s Cawley 400 Wood Stove! Another stove I was proud to be able to save, and of course the client was in awe when they came to pick their stove back up! Thank you as always for reading my posts, following my journey here, and constantly bringing me more stoves to save so I can keep doing what I love! • • • • • • • • #history #craftsman #workshop #supportlocal #craftsmanship #smallbusiness #jotul #woodstoves #woodstove #castiron #beforeandafter #vermont #localbusiness

•After and Before Lange 6203BR Wood Stove• Here we have an awesome Lange 6203BR woodstove made in Denmark. Lange made a lot of great detailed stoves back in the 70s, right up there in quality with the Jotul's of the time. This commission was one of the most extensive in the shops history. I had a client who saw my work here and reached out from Michigan to inquire about restoring a stove they had bought from someone on eBay. The first step was a little different this time, as I had to drive about 600 miles round trip to Southeast Mass to pickup the stove from the person they bought it from on eBay and get it back to my shop. Personally, traveling for stoves is one of my favorite perks. Over the years, I've been to more small quaint New England towns than almost anybody I know and I love it! Once we got the stove back to the shop, we started inspection. The biggest bummer I figured out very quickly is the enamel was shot. Most of the protective clear coating was worn down, the enamel was chipped and cracked everywhere, and had bad stains all over the top. But overall, stove was in ok shape, no cracks anywhere and just some bad internal pieces. Next step was disassembling the stove and chatting with the client about options with the enamel. Now we could have saved it, ish, and tried out best to bring it back and make it look ok. But once the enamel is chipping, its going to continue, there isnt much that can be done. So we decided for looks and longevity of the stove, we would blast the enamel off back to bare cast iron and paint it. Once we got the stove sandblasted we painted it with Thurmalox High Temp Stove Paint in Satin Black and started reassembly, fit in all the new internals, and rebuild the flue connector piece. After everything, we had an absolutely beautiful stove that the client and I were beyond impressed with! And last step was to crate the stove and ship it to its final home in Michigan! As always thank you for reading and thank you for all your support! It means everything to me! • • • • • • • • • #history #craftsman #workshop #supportlocal #craftsmanship #smallbusiness #jotul #woodstoves #castiron #woodstove #beforeandafter #vermont

•After and Before Jotul F500 Oslo Wood Stove• It feels like the year of big stoves here in the shop, as we have another F500 Oslo Jotul Woodstove come through the shop! And as a nice continuing trend, one that was not is terrible shape, just well overdue for a rebuild. Which we started as always by taking apart the entire stove bolt by bolt. After initial inspection of the parts it was off to sandblasting. Once everything is brought down to bare iron we do the final inspection and order any parts that may be needed. In this case we had another stove where the secondary manifold was in good shape and was able to be rebuilt back to new. Next we paint with the highest quality professional grade Thurmalox High Temp Stove Paint, in Satin Black. And then get down to assembly and fitting the new parts. Assembly went as smooth as butter and in the end we have another spectacular Oslo F500 ready for the client to take delivery back! Everyone was more than pleased with the results, and this stove is ready to go back in action for another 20 years! As always, thank you for reading and following my journey here in the shop, I appreciate all of you! • • • • • • • • #history #craftsman #jotul #workshop #supportlocal #craftsmanship #woodstoves #castiron #woodstove #beforeandafter #vermont #localbusiness

•After and Before 1988 Vermont Iron Elm Wood Stove• Here we have a beautiful little 18" Vermont Iron Elm make its way into the shop over the summer. Overall, the stove was really in great shape for its age! Which is always a nice little break from the more challenging projects. We started as always with a complete disassembly and inspection of parts. And surprisingly, only 3 bolts broke, all pretty common ones. But repairing 3 bolt holes is always better than repairing all of them! After inspection, the stove was sent to sandblasting to bring everything back down to bare metal. Once finished, all the parts get back onto the bench for final inspections and paint! The client wanted to go with the classic Satin Black, and as always we only use the highest quality Thurmalox High Temp Stove Paint. Next we made up brand new stainless tie rods and started assembly of the stove body and leveling. After that we were left with rebuilding the door and fitting it to the stove! And just like that we take what was a tired-looking Elm stove into a centerpiece of a stove! I was very pleased with the results and as always, the client was ecstatic when they saw their stove! I know I say it every time, but, thank you for reading, and thank you for following my journey here! I recently broke over 10 Thousand Followers between Facebook and Instagram, and overwhelming happiness is the only way to describe my feeling about this milestone! I never thought so many people would appreciate my little form of Art. Essentially because, frankly, it is a craft and trade that is dying. And there are very few reputable full time Stove Restoration shops that do work to this level. So again, thank you, thank you, thank you, none of this would be possible without all of you! •After and Before Jotul F600 Wood Stove• We are staying busy getting ready for winter, but heres another F600 Jotul Woodstove we finished up last month! A client from New Hampshire came and dropped this off over the summer in less than ideal shape. It was run hard for many years, and had some serious internal problems. As always first step was to take the whole stove apart bolt by bolt and get everything sandblasted and back on the bench for inspections. Other than the obvious stuff, we did find a crack developing in the back panel of the stove as well. Which shows why sandblasting and detailed inspection is so important to us. Any other shop would have easily missed this. Next step was to get all the new parts and new back ordered up and start painting. As always we only use the highest quality professional grade Thurmalox High Temp Satin Black paint. After a few weeks all the new parts arrived and it was time to get all of those on the workbench, inspected again, and then prepped for use. Once all that was done we got the stove back together with new cement and hardware all around, and fit the stove with some new glass. Then after about 6 weeks in the shop, the client got to come pick her stove back up! And to say she was thrilled would be an understatement, she could not believe it was the same stove! And just like that we have another stove we were proud to save, and another client who gets many more years out of her beloved stove! As always, thank you everyone for reading the post, and following my journey here at the shop! And thank you everyone who continues to bring me stoves to save, and to everyone buying gasket kits and paint. Thank you! • • • • • • • • #craftsman #workshop #jotul #history #supportlocal #craftsmanship #smallbusiness #jotul #woodstoves #woodstove #castiron #beforeandafter #vermont #localbusiness

•After and Before Trolla 105A Wood Stove• Finally back from a much needed vacation out west and just like thats it's looking like fall in Vermont! Of course we stay busy working year round, and this season is no different! Here is a beautiful Trolla 105A from the 1970s that was dropped off to the shop over the summer. Overall in great shape, but well overdue for a full rebuild back to new. Trolla Brug was a Norwegian foundry that made high quality cast stoves from 1830 till 1980, and was Jotuls main competition at the time. Unfortunately, not nearly as many of the real Trolla stoves were sold in the US compared to the knock off ,low quality, replicas from Taiwan that were identical, but did not say "Trolla" on the door. So it's always nice when a genuine Trolla makes its way into the shop! After fully disassembling the stove and sandblasting everything clean, we got to inspecting and painting all the parts. The client wanted to keep original red, which is unavailable but we found a beautiful Antique Ruby red made by Thurmalox that came out stunning. Once cured it should dull out just a touch and really look spectacular! Next we assembled the stove with new cement, hardware, and a new set of custom cut bricks. After all that we have another beautiful example of a wonderful vintage Norwegian stove! I was so happy with the results of this stove, and more importantly the client was simply in awe at how it came out! And as always, thank you for reading and following along my journey here at the shop! Im excited to get back to posting more and getting ready for another busy winter! • • • • • • • • • #history #craftsman #workshop #craftsmanship #supportlocal #smallbusiness #jotul #woodstoves #woodstove #castiron #beforeandafter #vermont #localbusiness

We do not always participate in all the trendy posts of FB. But anyone who knows me, knows I absolutely love my dogs! Here is a remembrance post of my big boy Cooper early on in my full time days. He was the goofiest, fluffiest, biggest, best personality ever Great Pyrenees. And we lost him due to old age this year. The shop is a lot more empty without him, and so is my heart! So this #nationaldogday I want to recognize the goodest of Boys, Cooper, and how wonderful of a stove model you were, and how you will always be a part of Kingdom Wood Stoves!

•After and Before Jotul F3 Wood Stove• Another month, another Jotul F3 woodstove makes its way into the shop! I think I may have rebuilt more F3s than anybody in the world at this point. And well, theres a reason. Just look at the results! This client found me right here from my socials and reached out about a F3 that had seen better days. Insides completely cracked or burnt out, back was cracked, gaskets were all rock hard. So we had a project ahead of us, but nothing that could not be handled. Started as always with taking the stove completely apart for inspecting and preparing for sandblasting. Which is sometimes easier said than done with F3s that have warped side plates, but we got it done. After this we order all the needed parts and got everything to sandblasting. After sandblasting, we got all the parts back under the light of the work bench for final inspections and paint prep. With no new surprises, we got right to painting with Industry Leading Thurmalox Satin Black High Temp Stove Paint. Next we let the paint air cure for a day, then we get right back at it for new part inspection and prep, and starting assembly. As always we assemble right back or factory standards, and double check work every step of the way. After everything was said and done, we rebuilt and fit the door with new glass, and now we have another stunning F3 to add to the tally! The client was overjoyed, as was I to be able to save another stove from the scrap pile and bring it back to life! As always, thank you so much for reading my post. And following my journey here, as well as constantly bringing me stoves to save and share and talk about. None of this is possible without all of you, thank you! • • • • • • • • • • • • #workshop #craftsman #history #supportlocal #craftsmanship #smallbusiness #jotul #woodstoves #castiron #woodstove #beforeandafter #vermont #localbusiness

•After and Before Cawley Lemay 600 Wood Stove• Earlier last month we had another wonderful Cawley LeMay 600 woodstove show up to the shop! It was for a repeat client and we were excited to get it looking beautiful again! I like to remind people of the awesome history of Cawley LeMay Woodstoves and why they are some of my favorites! They were created in Boyertown Pennsylvania by a husband, Bob Cawley, who was an engineer and designed the stove itself. And by wife, Martha Cawley, who is an artist and designed all the nature scene bas reliefs on the stoves. Each of the 5 models have their own unique scenes! Back onto the stove that was brought to the shop, it had seen much better days. All the internal parts were ruined, the stove was full of rusted and seized bolts, and just covered in 35 years of messes, spills, and rust. As we got to it, we started by taking the stove apart and doing initial inspections while prepping the stove for sandblasting. We also take this time to order the parts and pieces we do know we will need. After getting the stove back on the workbench from blasting, its time for final part inspections and prep for paint. This is also when we repair any bolt holes that need it, as well as prep any new parts for fit. Now it was time paint the stove with the industry leading and standard, Thurmalox High Temp Stove Paint, and we went with the classic Satin Black color. At this point its time for reassembly, where we check all of the fitting and joints one more time, and then assemble the stove exactly how it was from the foundry with all new foundry spec hardware, gaskets, and cement. After all is said and done we have another spectacular Cawley LeMay 600 finished, and the repeat client was just as excited and impressed as the first time! As always, thank you to every single person here for reading this post, following my journey here at the shop, and to everyone who keeps bringing me stoves to save! I appreciate you all more than I can say! Onto the next stove! • • • • • • • • • • #history #craftsman #woodstoves #beforeandafter #castiron #woodstove #workshop #supportlocal #craftsmanship #smallbusiness #vermont #localbusiness
