I can still remember feeling alone when I first started my herbal journey. I wished so badly I could just have a mentor who could speak to me with education, but not in words that flew over my head. Someone who could talk to me about current events, and help navigate the ins and outs of herbalism. I did, eventually, find that person, and now, I get to BE that person. If you’re looking for a BIBLICAL, evidence based herbalism approach, this membership is for you. And part of the membership means you get access to my course "Herbs & Preparations for Colds, Viruses, & Flus". In this course you'll learn: • How the body works • How the body gets sick • Environmental and herbal prevention • How to properly make proven herbal remedies • How to reduce common symptoms (like fever and cough) naturally • How to dose properly (including for children, and potentially toxic herbs) ... and so much more! Ready to take your learning to a whole new level? ENROLL NOW: https://thefewellhomestead.com/homestead-herbalist-membership/ #homesteadherbalist #herbalist #homestead #homesteadersofamerica

Just in time for Christmas presents, I'm sharing my herbal chapstick recipe from my book! I am not a typical chapstick user, but I found out quickly when I became a homesteader and herbalist that you can make one batch of chapstick that will literally last you years. Or, if you're an avid chapstick user, it will make quite a few chapsticks for you to share with your friends and loved ones. Making homemade chapstick is literally one of the easiest and quickest herbal products you can make at home. It is also highly customizable. Essential oils are the quickest way to add flavor or zing to your chapstick, but you could also just infuse actual herbs into your oil during the heating process. Or, you don't have to use herbs at all! This chapstick, with or without herbs, is very soothing to the lips. You'll wonder why you haven't been making homemade chapstick all along! Grab the recipe on my website here (link in bio) https://thefewellhomestead.com/how-to-make-homemade-herbal-chapstick/ #herbs #chapstick #homemade #homesteadherbalist #homestead #homesteadersofamerica

Compound butters are a quick and easy way to transform your homemade butter into a treat. You can make them sweet or savory. It’s as simple as making raw milk butter (or cultured butter), add in herbs and seasonings like garlic, thyme, and rosemary, and freezing them for a later date. Another favorite is cinnamon, sugar, honey, and vanilla for a sweet treat atop of toast, rolls, and biscuits. They also make great homemade gifts for the real food loved in your friends and family circle. #butter #homemade #rawmilk #dairy #farm #homestead #homesteadersofamerica

Todays warm weather has us dreaming of spring! Of course, that’s a ways off. But it gave us a nice break in the cold weather to begin setting in place our permanent garden space. The other two gardens will be ripped up, and our final garden will be set this spring. In the meantime, tiling up the space and tarping it will be a lifesaver for us. We will also put up several high tunnels beside the garden space. These will be used for our warmer season crops like tomatoes and peppers. The cows are loving the sunshine, and I’m sure they are dreaming of green grass! Believe it or not, our new pasture is VERY green. They are spending just a few hours a day on this pasture. But at least they get a little glimpse of springtime grass in the winter 💚 We’ll soak in these few warm days, because we know the harsh cold days are around the corner! #rawmilk #farm #refugeoflibertyfarm #Virginia

We have had two thanksgivings at other places already this week. But the one thing I truly love is making our own Thanksgiving food, just the way we like it. So today, I held back the extras that I made from yesterday’s meal at my grandmas, and today I’ve prepared our own turkey, cranberry sauce, rolls, and regular side fixings. With each new child we add to our family, I realize the importance of making our own traditions, in our own home. And one day, there will be more people around our family table—current loved ones, and new loved ones. Last night as the weight of the realization that the older generations are no longer here (my grandma is the last one in our family), there is a new generation that will make new traditions that will feel fresh and new and vibrant. And our kids will remember these traditions and when they’re older say “remember when”. There are many people who dislike tradition, but I think it’s truly what holds a family together, even long after the last generation is gone. Someone will pick up the torch and keep running. Or not. With soon to be four littles in our home, our family traditions are just getting started 🤍 Don’t mourn the good old days—we’re living the “good old days”. Make them count. #thanksgiving #family

I’m still here even though I haven’t posted in my IG newsfeed for over a week. All is well here. Pregnancy causes me to slow down and be still a lot more—especially during the first trimester. But the beauty of a season of thankfulness is here. For us, Thanksgiving is constant, but we enjoy simplicity of the season from September through December. Thanksgiving is something we see throughout the Bible—it is literally God’s will for our lives. To give thanks in all circumstances is our goal, according to the new testament. But thankfulness isn’t just going down a list of thanking God for all the things you have. In every scripture about giving thanks, the writers of scriptures give thanks for Who God IS. Because the only way to give thanks in all circumstances is to worship the one Who never changes. He is Alpha and Omega, King of Kings, majestic in every way. He laid the foundations of the earth, and He is the creator of every hair on your head, and mine. He gave His only Son so that we might live with Him forever. He is the one and true living God. He is the only One worthy of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a holiday, yes, but Thanksgiving should be the Christian way of life. How beautiful it is to live in a season of Thanksgiving in the Christian faith during these holiday times 🤍 #thanksgiving #Jesus #Yahweh #farm #homestead #homesteadersofamerica #home #homemaker

If you are in prophetic spheres, you know there are a lot of things happening right now. There is a “showdown” of sorts beginning between many well-known prophetic names. It actually started awhile back in the Spiritual, but is beginning to manifest in the physical. There are prophetic voices from all spheres that I question now days—no matter their track record. Everyone can be compromised. So when you ask for my opinion, and I say “I don’t have an opinion until the arrows land”, please don’t take offense. Let me explain why. I do not make decisions or take sides quickly unless I undoubtedly know the answer. But in my experience in being submerged in the church and behind leadership doors since I was 9 years old, I have learned that even the most seasoned and well respected leaders can become Saul’s against David’s in a heartbeat. I have also learned that the enemy is sly, and preys on warrior hearts that want to fight for the kingdom, and sometimes they become unteachable. Both sides are compromised, at times. And so, as arrows fly in all directions during the recent and coming prophetic showdowns in the church, here’s what I do instead. I ask God, “what are You doing?” And He always, always answers that question. I never say “who is right or wrong?” When there could be untruths on both sides. Instead I ask “what holy division and exposure are you causing that will grow the church by leaps and bounds…and how can I navigate myself and my family through it?” During the crazy times we are in, and the times we are going into with the church, we must be so close to the Father that our discernment isn’t from man or media or people we look up to because of their track record only, but instead, from within our solid relationship with the Father, and wise counsel from all spheres. So as the arrows are still in the air (trust me, only the light ones have landed), we intercede for the body of Christ. This is the wise thing to do. #prophets #America #Jesus #church

I’m finally sifting through the photos of the 2024 @homesteadersofamerica conference and the Friday night @homesteadrevivalnow service. I have a LOT of photos to come, but the amount of joy in this photo is amazing. What a special weekend where we saw 6,000+ homesteaders come to learn about homesteading, and at least 600 stay for the Friday night revival service. We saw multiple people baptized, receive personal prayer, and so much more. Thank you to everyone who came out to be a part of our ministry teams! 📷 @mollympetersonphotographer #homesteadersofamerica #homesteadrevival
