It’s hard to put into words everything that has gone on the past 8+ months - this doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. It’s been a long road and one that still has many unanswered questions, but I am finally ready to share 🫶🏻 Around the middle of last year, my health started to decline significantly: My sleep was terrible (2-3 hr/night). My hair started falling out. My hands have turned yellow. I was nauseous all the time so appetite was non existent (this along is a BIG concern for me). Training made me feel beyond terrible. I dealt w/ bloating, constipation and a slew of GI issues 24/7. Unexplained weight gain. Then the eyelid infection that NEVER went away. I finally got GI mapping done in Oct and learned that I had the WORST case of candida and leaky gut (later add SIBO) that they have ever seen. My entire life changed within the matter of hours. I was warned that I would feel worse before I felt better, but NOTHING could have prepared me for how bad things would actually get. I couldn’t train for 4 weeks. In fact, I barely left my couch for 6 weeks. The fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, and low back pain were like nothing I have ever experienced. Everything I ate made me feel even worse. The nausea was so bad, just getting in water was a battle. Just getting through the day took literally everything out of me for MONTHS. It has truly been a living hell- to say the least. I know have a long road ahead, a lot still needs to be figured out but after starting IV therapy 2 weeks ago, I’m finally having more GOOD days than bad. And I have a LOT of healing to do that goes far beyond my gut, but I am finally feeling like me again for the first time in a very long time and that gives me so much peace and so much hope. I truly would not have made it through all this without you, and I will forever be eternally grateful 🫶🏻

10/10 recommend taking a week away to disconnect from the world, and work to reconnect with yourself 🫶🏼 Admittedly, slowing down and making myself a priority is something I struggle with greatly, so spending this past week out on a ranch to do so was difficult and incredibly humbling- and also a very eye-opening experience for me. #CONGRATULATIONS to my client @jennifershepardmccranie for stepping in her first bikini stage yesterday where she competed in not one but TWO shows and 10 classes at the @mmvanpc Mid-Atlantic Open Armed Forces and NPC VA State Show 🎉 Not only that, but she cleaned HOUSE with all of the hardware that she took home, placing VA State Open Class A - 2nd Place 🥈 VA State Novice- 4th Place🏅 VA State Masters 35+ - 4th Place🏅 Va State True Novice - 3rd Place 🥉 Mid Atlantic Open- 6th Place 🏅 Mid Atlantic Masters 35+ - 5th Place 🏅 Jennifer and I started working together back in December 2022, but an injury caused her to take a step back from the program and competing. She took some time away to heal, and focus on her health, and then started back up with me in July with the goal of competing at this show. We knew the timelines would be aggressive, but over the course of those 17 weeks, Jennifer lost almost 27 pounds, and brought a beautiful physique to the stage yesterday. More importantly, Jennifer was able to finally accomplish your goal of stepping on that bikini stage, despite the challenges that life has thrown her way.
