What a thrill and a joy to watch our boys play football together this season. @nathandinwiddie22, Senior-kicker and @charlie_dinwiddie, Freshman- kick return. Their small Christian school made it to the semi-finals and fought hard to the end. We are all so proud of them and the hard work they’ve been putting in for over seven months! It is bittersweet watching the last Varsity high school game for one child and the beginning of another child’s Varsity football life. We don’t know the future for our boys but we trust in the promise that God gives us in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” He goes on to say (12-13), “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” I trust in You, Jesus! I pray for Your will to be done in my sons’ lives. Amen.

A peek inside Eleven Gables dressed up for Christmas… This year, our family tree is decorated with all homemade ornaments from the hands of my boys. If you are a young momma, cherish these ornaments. Write their name and age and the year as soon as they bring them home. If they aren’t making them at school, go to the craft store and buy some of their easy kits to make with your children. Skip the foam sticker ornaments (they lack personal touches and fall apart in storage). Handprint Santa clause or thumbprints in a wreath shape with their picture in the center are fun and easy. Salt dough cookie shapes with their little touches of paint or glitter are darling too! What is your favorite handmade ornament?

This year, customize your Christmas tree using your own pot or planter.
