🧳 E X P E R I E N C E • C O U N T S 🧳 What’s the old saying? If you talk the talk, you have to walk the walk? Or in my case, have suitcase, will travel. It’s utterly essential for me. I travel so that when I say that I know what I’m talking about, you know you can trust me. I’ve been lucky in my 43 years to have seen so much, in so many varied countries around the world. From New Zealand to the USA, Sri Lanka to Fiji, Italy to Cambodia, I’ve really clocked up some miles. And boy am I grateful for that. Welcome to Borgo Pignano in Volterra, Tuscany - an elegant historical country estate in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, just a short drive from the historic hill towns of Volterra and San Gimignano. 📣 N E W S 📣 // F O U R • S E A S O N S • MYKONOS Exciting news today as I’ve just heard from my @fourseasons friends that next summer will see the debut of their new #FourSeasonsMykonos resort. Located in Kalo Livadi Bay (just next to Elia), it will offer 94 rooms, suites and villas, with gorgeous ocean and cliff views. Designed to honour the local architecture and style, it will feature white cubic architecture with whitewashed courtyards, traditional pathways and picturesque piazzas. There’s also going to be an al fresco pool-side Italian venue, a modern interpretation of a Mykonian kafeneio, and a “beach experience” which is promising, as few hotels on Mykonos offer this, so this could be quite unique for a hotel of this size. Ahhh Thailand. The famed Land of Smiles. 🇹🇭 It’s a country that I am lucky to know more than any other on Earth. I have more passport stamps for this beautiful Kingdom than anywhere else. • AMAN MALDIVES • At last, it’s time for the paradisiacal Maldives to become home to an @aman. This iconic group has just announced #AMANMaldives, which will be located in the secluded southern Vaavu Atoll. It will be designed by the brilliant Kerry Hill Architects, the longtime collaborator of many beautiful Aman resorts (including some real favourites of mine @aman_tokyo, @amanwella_resort & @amansara) There will be just 52 ‘pavilions’, ranging from one to three bedroom, all with private pools. Some will be on the main resort, and some will be on tucked away on extensions to the island. There also promises to be a stunning Aman Spa on its own islet, which will be vast, over 2,600 sqm in size, offering wellbeing wonders. There will also be a variety of dining venues, a beach club, and an excellent watersports & diving centre. Construction is now underway. I will share more information and images as and when they become available. An opening date has yet to be announced. This is an exciting development, and a welcome one to the Maldives. So I was super excited to finally visit (with my dear friend Paola’s kind help) their outpost here in the Maldives. 🌱 JOALI • BEING 🌱 I’m already a huge fan of the original #JoaliMaldives, so I’ve wanted to visit their newest wellness orientated offshoot since it opened. It’s safe to say I’m crushing! 😍 From the moment that you arrive and are welcomed through the beautiful white ‘Gate of Zero’, there’s something magical at play here, and this resort is now right at the top of my personal favourites here in the Maldives. Which let me tell you, is a short list! All of my detailed insights from my stay here can be viewed on my Stories now. 💡 WHY COME HERE? 🟰if it’s wellness & spa that you love, put simply there’s nowhere better in the Maldives. No question. An utterly phenomenal offering in that regard. But, and it’s a big caveat, this is not just a wellness resort. It’s boutique, so for those who prefer a smaller island, it’s perfect. Love design? You won’t find a better finish & quality anywhere in my view. For me, this is a wonderful #honeymoon option. It also works for families, with a lovely nature-focused kid’s club and great villas. Service is super sincere, and I loved how the team here are full of personality, and not afraid to show that. They’re so lovely. This is the Maldives’ hotel equivalent of a warm hug.
