How to structure your upper body workout 👇🏽 For me, we keep it simple, and spread the volume evenly across all muscle groups Something along the lines of: Side raise High incline press Lat focussed row single arm Chest flye Upper back focussed row Bicep curl Tricep extension You can use like for like exercises that you have access to, the sets, and rep ranges fit you based on the volume you can handle and the rep ranges you like to work in most (all I’d say here is make sure you’re using a multitude of rep ranges to get the most out of each movement) Give it a try and I guarantee this set up will lead to a solid workout every time 🤝🏽 #upperbodyworkout #fitnessmotivation #uppersession

Going from not having a clue when it comes to diet or training, to being in the shape of his life, and 8kg down 👏🏽. Jason was a complete beginner, he literally came to me to start his fitness journey. Nothing currently in place, no structure, no plan, gym every now and again with his mates and ate whatever was in the cupboards. What we DIDNT do here - was a 0-100 approach, we moved at a pace which allowed Jason to become accustomed to what we were doing with training and nutrition, learning as he went and gaining confidence the better he got at everything. You do this for 10-12 weeks and before you know it, it’s second nature, your habits have changed for good, and you’re a completely new version of yourself. To not be in your best physical shape, is a disservice to yourself. Being in your best physical shapes comes from you; - Looking after your diet; fuelling your body with the right food and having adequate energy levels - Training regularly in the gym; getting stronger, increasing your natural testosterone, challenging yourself mentally - Doing your cardio; working on your cardiovascular fitness, improving the health and quality of your organs - Being in a good routine; managing your time well, having a structure to your day - Applying discipline to what you do; ignoring distractions, not giving into temptations - Having goals to achieve; knowing what you’re working towards, getting there and setting bigger goals Now reading that back, how can you not see the impact that these things will have on your quality of life; your work, family, relationships, mental health. These areas that being in your best physical shape positively bleeds into, is why it is a complete disservice not to be working on your physique and fitness. Another pull session in the books; another session spent just trying to get better. Progressive overload has always been at the forefront of my thinking when it comes to training, but the way I think about progressions now is much different to what it was. I used to think; more weight. And nothing else mattered. What did this lead to? Form getting sloppy, injuries, ego lifting. What do I do now? Try to get better at every movement. Weight, reps, tempo, time under tension, execution, direct stimulus created. Now I’m making more physique progress than ever, with less risk. It’s a mistake we all make, but one that you should fix asap. #pullday #backworkout
