📍 Could 2025 be the year you venture north to the Arctic Circle? In August 2025 this beautiful tall ship will be on expedition to circumnavigate the isolated and rugged Coast of Spitsbergen, the largest island of the Svalbard archipelago... and you could join them on board. This expedition time will be focused on the most remote and difficult-to-access locations in Svalbard, focusing on the east of the archipelago, filled with remote fjords and ice front. Expect stunning Arctic vistas, an abundance of wildlife and to become part of the crew on board the traditionally rigged sailing vessel. 🔬 We love that this isn't just an expedition for expedition's sake, throughout the journey you have the opportunity to take part in citizen science initiatives. There is a general lack of data about the Arctic and particularly in some of the highly remote locations this expedition will visit. Through the trip there will be a focus on collecting data at regular intervals to shed light on the continuing influence of the changing climate on the Polar Regions. Measuring water temperature, the presence of microplastics (if any), salinity and acidity levels as well as keeping a rigorous log on sighted wildlife along the way.
