I’m working towards pitching my young adult roller derby film to a US Executive Producer. So much work goes into a pitch with no guarantees. In our case it’s having an advanced draft screenplay, which I have read and edited soooo many times & had some great feedback to help make it better, getting experienced crew on board, having a professional looking pitch deck (huge thanks to @josieb_creative for these images), having a budget & finance plan, attaching a Top 1000 IMDB actor, cast & distribution. A massive thank you to everyone who’s been a part of this journey so far, fingers crossed we’ll be heading into pre-production in the new year! 🎉 Good luck to all the creatives out there working towards their goals. Most of us aren’t in it for the money or glory (tho that would be nice 😆), as @sarahmcleod1 sings, ‘we’re only in it for love’.

Digital backgrounds for young adult feature Rock’n’Roller! We were struggling to fit a $1.5M budget to a traditional film making style when animator John Kendrick suggested Unreal Engine sets. These are some examples which will look more lifelike when rendered. Changing the budget to shoot in one studio location cut 2 weeks off our shoot time and means being able to allocate more to casting! It’s still going to be super tight but exciting to see the project progress!

It was great to attend the Sunshine Coast Film Summit to connect with industry professionals. We’ve got a long way to go but it’s awesome to see the Sunshine Coast trying to build a sustainable film industry here! 😀

I’m not normally into horror movies, but this was a fun watch, of a teen girl who’s body swapped with a serial killer, on a stormy Halloween night! 👻 (I just covered my eyes during the gory killing scenes 😆)
