It's finished! LOCKED is a short film I had been dabbling with writing for the past year or so. This year, it was finally ready for filming, so we did! Now it's time for the festival rounds. It's not my favourite part, BUT the cast and crew on this film were all brilliant, and their work deserves to be seen! Thank you to @r.earl , @elijahormesher , @jonathanzsofi , @conorwhitty , @hamishmckenna and the wonderful cast @roybarkeractor , @helene_tardif_actress , and of course my creative bestie who demands I continue to work with her @cassidykrygger . Thank you also to the ever loving @gruffdesign for your support, encouragement and food, as well as the clever @lachiepresto It's not a super positive film - so to have such wonderful positive and happy people make this film come together is so special. @ilona_derauch - ❤️

Can you believe that we filmed Daisy one whole year ago today? Where is time going? 😥 This film has completely changed my life and I’m forever grateful to the people who worked on this and to everyone who has watched it! We were selected at nearly 30 film festivals and won 17 awards which still blows my mind! We had two sold out screenings in June and Daisy has been on YouTube for 8 days and already has more than 7,500 views 🤩. I made a movie this year! 🌼🌼🌼 And it’s now available to view on my YouTube channel via the link in my bio! ‘Daisy’ is based on the true story of my great grandparents and of course set in my favourite era to watch, the 1930s. Synopsis: In 1930s Australia, a young woman defies societal expectations and risks losing everything as she embarks on a forbidden love affair, challenging the boundaries of family, faith, and the pursuit of true happiness. This has been such an honour to write, produce and act in as my great grandmother and been so healing for my family. Daisy has won 17 awards at Film Festivals around the world and has opened so many doors for me and I’m so grateful for our cast and crew who made this possible. Daisy the short film had a Grand Finale of sorts at the @northbellarinefilmfestival and it was an honour to be their Opening Night Short Film and to have a Q&A with our director Alyssa Scott and I. Daisy has been the most magical journey with so much success that it will never really compute in my head with 17 wins at festivals around the world. And I can’t believe we filmed a year ago next week! Thank you to everybody for your support and I can’t wait to show you what we are doing next at Daisy Productions!

Remembering my great grandmother Daisy, pictured here on the left with her sister Eileen, on the 93rd anniversary of her death at just 23 in 1931. It’s easy to get swept up in the incredible success of the short film and writing the feature film and forget that underneath it all was a young woman with her own hopes and dreams for the future, a new husband and a little baby to love. Without her, our family would not exist. I hope you are proud, Daisy 🤍
