Just having a proud moment! Congratulations Skye on such an achievement winning a state level literacy award. Introducing Skye into the acting arena in 2023 with our film @lokiandme2023, thanks to @focusonability film festival, I knew immediately she has something the world needs to see. Winning international awards for her acting ability, then having a starring role as ‘Ruby’ in the short film @blindfreedomfilm playing alongside professional actress Claire Duncan @hauntedthisplaceis as her sister ‘Molly’. And now, at only 12, she is an emerging writer (award winning too!). I am so very proud of your achievements. Back again for another round at this year’s @focusonability film festival. We have three little films that were shown at a screening this week at #crowncasinomelbourne We were very lucky last year with @lokiandme2023 winning an award but OMG, so many great films from beautiful and talented people. I’m a Writer and a Director. Why is it important for me to focus on both? I’ve been a ‘director’ for my own and other companies multiple times. I’ve ‘directed’ countless employees over years. But in those roles, it just felt like a chore and rewards are hardly earned. Directing a film that you have written, is the most satisfying, rewarding and beautiful experience one can have. You become a full on creative. You are passionate, artistic and a creative person. You focus completely on putting your words onto a screen. And at the end, you are rewarded with a creative project that you and others have put together based on ‘your’ vision.
