🌸 HIIII IT’S ME 🌸 I haven’t taken the time and space to introduce myself to you— my favorite community!— in such a long time 🌸✨ so here’s a little bit about me: 🌸 I am a crime victim advocate by day, helping victim-survivors navigate some really tough systems and find their way through crisis and into recovery and healing. I came to this work as a survivor of DV and I have a fire in my deepest core about this work every day! 🌸 I’m also working on my master of social work! I got into my program thinking I wanted to become a therapist, and I still might one day— but now I’m way more passionate about advocacy and policy. ✨ 🌸 I live in Montana with my sweet daughter, our cat Magick, and our new puppy Lucy. 🌸 I’m a Cancer Sun, Aries Moon, Cap rising with a grand fire trine and a very fire dominant chart. Under this softie exterior there is definitely a fierceness. ❤️‍🔥 Some things you might not know about me: ❤️‍🔥 I absolutely LOVE boxing and on a day off you can find me strength training or running the hills in our backyard. ❤️‍🔥 I’m a wilderness first responder and love backpacking, climbing, and storytelling around the campfire. ❤️‍🔥 I spend a lot of my free time reading thrillers and mysteries— and my dream is to write a book. And most of all, it was a letter of love to little me, who is so amazed to see that all along, I wasn’t alone in any of this. I’ve been thinking a lot about how nonlinear/cyclical healing can be. for me it comes up sometimes when a good thing happens. my trauma says ‘just wait— the other shoe will drop any moment.’ I try to speak softly to this part of me. she is just trying to keep me safe in a world that is often anything but. and my healing process is to create a sanctuary of inner safety for this tender & scared part of me. to keep facing new beginnings with a heart open to possibility 🩷 with tenderness, hope 🤍 {images are from the moomin tv series (1990), created by the amazing tove jansson}
