World Mental Health Day I was so excited to be invited by @romance_con to talk this year on their mental health panel and discuss mental health representation in the romance genre. All my books tackle mental health struggles, wether it’s anxiety, male infertility that leads to emotional stress, or giftedness and hypersensitivity. It’s the one aspect I’m the most proud of. Mainly because it makes readers feel seen. The number of DMs I get at each book release saying that they could relate so much to my characters’ struggles. For an author, it’s the greatest gift (for me anyway). I will always write mental health struggles in my books because mental health is inherently part of what makes us human, and because I heal a little bit more every time I write a character that struggles like me.
