Mermaids! 🧜‍♀️ Californian Sea Lion (Zalophus californianus) is not a fish, but their life is so closely linked to the sea so I think they can take their place in this gallery. This is is most playful animal I ever saw in the water! They move so fast! It took me really time to make sure this encounter happens. This is a quite young Sea lion. Adults may become aggressive if someone crosses the border, However, pups adore play with you under the water! Mermaids! 🧜‍♀️ Today’s hero @nudideep is Fabián Encinas in real life, he is from Lima - Peru, 34 years old. Passionate marine biologist, specialist in ecology and taxonomy, also Padi diving instructor and scientific diving instructor. And he just founded an NGO for research into the diversity of marine and continental macrobenthos, called Mullu Foundation @fundacion_mullu . I find his bizarre alien creatures from the sea truly amazing!!! Shall we vote for the best picture of the selection?

Like @michiel.van.staveren , the author of today’s pictures! Complete lunatic about uw photography. He is a pending all free time and money just to photograph these tiny underwater creatures. But the result is really awesome! And there is more! He loved diving so much that after his university degree in international relations he just went diving. Didn’t look back. Now he became partner in one of the biggest dive centers in Europe: the @waterhoppersrhodes . He lives now permanently in Rhodes and have 9 cats.
