Our greatest passion is to inspire even one person to love and appreciate the ocean. In Singapore, where diving conditions are often limited compared to other Southeast Asian destinations, we aim to reveal the hidden beauty beneath the murk. Inspired by Singapore’s rich biodiversity, MURK! follows a group of underwater photographers as they document the intricate marine life in our waters. [Director’s note]: Ocean and climate stories are often heavy with doom and gloom. While it’s crucial to address the urgency of these issues, we also believe in the power of hope. Our vision was to create something original—filled with nostalgia, community and a quiet (or maybe not-so-quiet) cheerfulness. As a nation of 66 islands often seen only as a bustling city, this project was my chance to reconnect with our identity as islanders.
