Gave me immense joy to have spent time with the makers of our “Sangha Ganapati” the family of Mannagudda Mohan Rao who have been making the vigrahas for over nine decades now. In this edition of #CatchupWithCaptain I spent time moulding clay and learning about what it takes to transform soil into the divine. I had the opportunity to take part in the National Space Day celebrations held at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mudipu. This day marks the historic achievement, two years ago, when India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission successfully carried out a soft landing of the Vikram Lander at the ‘Shiv Shakti Point’ on the Moon, making India the first country in the world to land on the lunar south pole. In line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, this day is now being observed across schools nationwide.

Grateful to see Sadhguru highlighting the sacred heritage of our land. From the divinity of Kateel, to the spiritual legacy of Kadri, and the sanctity of Someshwar temple, these places are not just centres of worship. Met Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman Ji along with fellow MPs from Karnataka, in Delhi earlier today. Raised the demand for a one-time compensation for arecanut farmers affected by Yellow Leaf Disease, and discussed a few other pressing issues concerning the areca & farming sector.

Alongwith Union Ministers Shri @pralhadvjoshi , Shri @vsomannakarnataka , Shri @hd_kumaraswamy and my fellow MPs from Karnataka had a detailed meeting with the Hon’ble Union Agriculture Minister Shri @chouhanshivrajsingh ji on various issues faced by the farmers in our state. Highlighted the severe impact of Yellow Leaf Disease on arecanut farmers in Mangaluru and other Areca growing parts of Karnataka. We have been pursuing this issue from day one and once again impressed upon the Minister the gravity of the crisis. Sought a one-time compensation package and long-term solutions to safeguard farmers’ livelihoods, so that our they are also part of Atmanirbhar Bharat as envisioned by Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji.

Ganapati Bappa Morya! Our Railways bring good news this festive season with Special Trains that we requested for being announced for #GaneshChaturthi between Bangalore - Mangalore. Two special trains on the eve of Chauthi for passengers to head #BackToOoru. I thank our Railway Ministers @ashwini.vaishnaw and @vsomannakarnataka for enabling people to be home with their families this festival with these special trains.
