🌟 Happy Small Business Saturday! 🌟 Today, we celebrate pert of the heart and soul of our communities: small businesses! These local gems are more than just places to shop; they are the dreamers, creators, and innovators who enrich our neighborhoods and contribute to our unique identities. Supporting small businesses doesn’t always mean making a purchase (though that’s fantastic!). Here are some meaningful ways to uplift your favorites today and throughout the year: 1. Spread the Word: Share your favorite small businesses on social media. Tag them in your posts and stories, and let your friends know what makes them special. A simple recommendation goes a long way! 2. Leave a Review: If you love a local shop or service, take a moment to leave a positive review online. Your words can help others discover the value they offer. 3. Join the Community: Attend local events, markets, or workshops. Engaging with small businesses fosters connections and strengthens the community fabric. 4. Gift Local: Consider giving the gift of local this season. Whether it’s a handmade item or a unique experience, your thoughtful purchases support artisans and entrepreneurs. 5. Be a Loyal Customer: Build relationships with small businesses by returning regularly. Consistent support can make a significant impact on their success. 6. Engage with Their Content: Like, comment, and share their posts. Your engagement helps them reach a broader audience and can inspire others to check them out. 7. Collaborate and Share Expertise: If you have skills in marketing, design, or other areas, consider partnering with small businesses for mutually beneficial projects. Whether it’s hosting a workshop, co-creating content, or sharing insights, collaboration can bring fresh ideas to both parties and strengthen community ties. Let’s cherish the creativity and passion that small businesses bring to our lives. Today is a perfect opportunity to show your appreciation, but remember, your support can make a difference every day of the year. ❤️ Together, let’s keep our communities vibrant and thriving!

We are proud to be the showcasing an extensive collection of Finger Lakes paintings by Harry Orlyk. His skillful oil landscapes capture the essence of this stunning region with striking clarity and depth. Each piece reflects Orlyk’s dedication to his craft and his deep connection to the natural world. Don’t miss the chance to experience the profound beauty of the Finger Lakes through the eyes of this artist. Many visitors to our shop have seen photos of Harry’s unique painting setup—often perched in his truck with the steering wheel as his easel. Swipe to see him in his studio, surrounded by a wall filled with decades of journals that reflect his life’s journey. For Harry, capturing the essence of the day goes beyond just painting; it’s about documenting the world around him in every way possible. Come and explore how his experiences and observations translate into his breathtaking landscapes.

We’re thrilled to feature @ironvinestudios expanded Eternal Woodlands Collection; stunning recycled steel tree sculptures by the talented local artist, Sam Castner. Sam’s work embodies the spirit of resilience, showcasing how discarded materials can be reborn into something breathtaking. You know we will always celebrate sustainability and local craftsmanship and we love the idea of gifting a piece that sparks conversation and inspires others to see beauty in the overlooked—there’s nothing more special than that. 🌲✨ #peaceonearth #sustainableliving #sustainablegifting #fingerlakes

As we began preparing our shop for the festive season ahead we faced a bittersweet decision: what to do with our beloved scarecrow, Mycelia the Mushroom Lady. Crafted with care and brimming with charm, she had become a treasured part of our autumn landscape, a whimsical guardian of Main Street. We simply couldn’t bear to part with her or the folklore she had woven into our shop’s story. And so, without further ado, we invite you to dive into the enchanting story of Mycelia - how she came to be, and the winter that awaits her as she watches over us in the shop. ✨📚Once upon a time, in a quaint town nestled by a majestic lake uniquely shaped like the letter “Y,” the air hummed with the quiet preparation of late fall. The fiery hues of autumn had faded, leaving behind a mosaic of rich browns and soft grays. The lake, cradled by glacial hills, shimmered beneath the waning sunlight. As winter loomed, the townsfolk felt the familiar weight of isolation inch closer with each shorter day and lengthening night. One crisp evening, as the horizon blushed with the last lavender hues of dusk, a gentle rustling stirred at the edge of the woods. Out of the shadows emerged a figure both wondrous and serene—the Mushroom Lady. Her form, wrapped in layers of well-worn flannel and a hand-knit wool shawl, exuded an earthy elegance. Her matching skirt flowed like mist around her wiry frame, and her feet, if she had them, never seemed to touch the ground. But her most striking feature was her head—a large, graceful mushroom cap that elegantly perched atop her shoulders, devoid of a face yet radiating an aura of grace and tranquility. The Mushroom Lady was the spirit of the season’s quiet magic, a gentle guardian of nature’s rhythms. Each fall, she left her forest haven to visit the town, bringing tokens of the woods—twigs laden with frost, clusters of mossy pinecones, and tiny, luminous mushrooms that sparkled like stars. Her arrival was a reminder of the unseen magic woven into the world, the kind that thrived in the quiet spaces between seasons. (Continued in comments)…

We are so happy to share this new project with you! One of our favorite aspects of running this small business is getting the opportunity to collaborate with other skilled & dedicated creators in our community. Rachel and Dan, of @stavingartist put endless heart and integrity into their work, and we are honored to have worked with them on this project. It was a joy to create the vessels for this special candle release! Rachel beautifully describes our collaboration below, so I will let her words say the rest: Introducing a true work of art: Our limited-edition Lightkeeper Candle, an heirloom gift that embodies collaboration, craftsmanship, and community. Lovingly crafted by local artisans Kate and Nick of Eye to the Sky Ceramics, this candle is more than a lovely vessel -  it’s a story of skilled hands, creative spirit, and dedication to keeping light alive in our lives. Its organic, rounded shape rests gracefully on a delicate footed base, a design that is both timeless and uniquely grounded. The Golden Hour Cream color is inspired by that magical, soft light just before sunset, bringing warmth and coziness to your chosen space. The glaze, elegantly imperfect, reveals touches of raw stoneware beneath, creating a tactile, earthy charm that makes each piece one-of-a-kind. Inside, you’ll find 14 oz of pure soy wax infused with a clean-burning and non-toxic proprietary scent, developed and hand poured by Rachel of Staving Artist Woodwork. When lit, the wood wick gently crackles, bringing the fragrance alive - a sensory experience designed to calm and inspire. The current scent is Sage & Bramble. This name evokes the essence of fall forests and bountiful nature with earthy sage, the subtle sweetness of blackberry, and the crisp scent of fallen leaves. It hints at a cozy, seasonal atmosphere with a touch of wilderness - perfect for autumn gatherings or peaceful evenings at home. Available exclusively at Staving Artist Woodwork for a limited time, this candle isn’t just a collaboration; it’s a celebration of artistry, community, and an undying connection to light and hope.
