🥹💕 As I left my house this morning for my first day back to work, I had a good cry in my car. It was like a release of every emotion I’ve been feeling leading up to the end of my maternity leave. I needed it, bad. I kept thinking about my kids little faces as I walked out the door and how sad I was to not be able to do the daycare drop off today like I always do. I missed them ALL day and couldn’t wait to get home. If I could have teleported I would have in an instant. I didn’t make it to pick up- traffic was rough. I was sad again. But the moment I turned that key and walked through the door, there they were running towards me with open arms, huge smiles and shouting “Mama” and every little bit of sadness quickly was replaced with happiness holding my babies in my arms. The entire idea of being apart from our kids is an unnatural feeling. The Fomo of missing milestones is real. But if you too are about to go back to work from your leave, just know that at the end of the day, your little ones will be there waiting for you. Ready to love on you and cuddle you.
