Did you know? 🤔 Babies are born with sphincter control. Yup. That means your newborn baby will cry when she needs to go potty and WAIT for you to take the diaper off to do her business 🤯 All our doctors and nurses are trained to believe that babies don’t have sphincter control until 18 months old. Then, what about all the babies (prior to diapers’ invention in 1961) for all of human history??? In 1957 92% of American babies were done with potty training by 18 months old. It doesn’t add up. (And don’t get me started about who funded the med school textbooks - yep, Pampers University. Follow that money y’all….🤑) 👉Comment the word EASYSTART for my free easy start guide - trust me this ain’t rocket science mamas and daddies!!! Night time EC with a newborn - to do, or not to do?! THE most important factor in deciding whether to continue EC thru the night is if it works for your family or not. SO, if you're not yet at a point where you're getting sufficient sleep, let night time EC go for now and come back to it when everyone is getting better sleep. If you're ready to dive in, here are some tips! STEP 1️⃣ - PREPARE ▫️ Extra waterproof and absorbent layers to protect the bed. ▫️ Fleece blanket to act as a stay-dry layer if it's been a rough night with misses. ▫️ Cloth or one time use diapers as backups (My advice would be to be brave and try to go diaper free at night as soon as you have worked out your routine, to avoid night-time diaper changes) ▫️ Potty or receptacle you are going to use @tinyundies top hat potty is perfect! ▫️ Extra pajamas for you, too (at least until you have perfected your routine). STEP 2️⃣ - What works, what doesn't ▫️ Patience - it takes time to figure out what works best! ▫️ Confidence - own this thing, once a babies needs are met you'll be surprised how quickly & easily they go back to sleep. ▫️ A dose of healthy humor -I am sure there will be some situations that will put a smile on your face years after you’re done with night-time EC. Like this one time, when I held my baby above my flip-flop instead of our night-time receptacle and did not even realize it until I passed the flip-flop to my husband to go and empty it in the bathroom. 😊 ▫️ Creativity - try different receptacles, locations or different pottytunities! ▫️ Observe to find what timing & signals you see that prove it's time to potty. ▫️ Cue - use the same verbal or onomatopoeic cue you are using during day-time EC and baby will respond, even in sleep. STEP 3️⃣ - Stick to your new routine! When you find a system that works, stick to it. You will probably discover night-time patterns are more regular than day-time. DM me "NIGHT EC" if you're interested in my special mini-course on this! When did YOU decide to do night time EC or potty training? Share your experience with other parents & caregivers below! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ xx Andrea at @godiaperfree

Putting babies on the potty is what ALL humans did (and many around the world still do!) before disposable diapers took over in the 1960s 😮 Diaper companies convinced parents to delay potty training for their benefit (it was good for business 💰... you know!) And guess who funded those med school textbooks? Pampers University! Follow the money, and you’ll see where the influence lies. 🤑 Families who practice what we now call EC get to avoid poopie diapers 💩 and diaper rash, have an even closer bond with baby, and a major leg up when it comes time to potty train 🚽 You can see why our followers are bought 👏🏼 in 👏🏼 and happily spreading that good news on social media and beyond 😂 Some (like me, Andrea) don’t have to ever do any formal potty training 😯 and can ditch diapers without the tears or drama 🙌🙌🙌 as soon as their baby masters walking! And of course, that’s the point when they are actually “trained,” when they can take care of business 🚽 all on their own 🥳 Ready to join the fan club? 😉 COMMENT the word EASYSTART for a free guide to kickstart your journey TODAY – it’s easier than you think, parents! 🙌 👉👉 or if you’re past that window and want a gentle, non-coercive way to potty train your LO starting at 18 months, comment “WRAPPINGUP” for my best resource on potty training 😘 #eliminationcommunication #godiaperfree #pottytraining #gentleparenting

What do you think people did for thousands of years before disposable diapers?? Babies start signaling to us from birth that they want help staying hygienic, but Big Diaper has fooled us into thinking we need to use their wearable toilets instead 🙈 Delayed toilet training is a social trend, ❌not❌ a medical necessity, and certainly not in the best interest of baby’s health or hygiene! You can introduce the potty as early as DAY 1 of a newborn baby’s life! (If it sounds crazy, think about why we use diapers as a full time toilet instead of a “backup” for just in case…yep, WEARABLE TOILETS are crazy💁‍♀️) And by being done with diapers at the REAL “developmentally-appropriate age” of 12-18 months, you can save 50-66% of diaper costs, per child 🙌 PLUS you get to use your young toddler’s natural willingness to learn new things to your advantage, rather than trying to convince an independence-hungry 2 or 3yo to ditch the diaper 🫣 HOW?? 👉Comment the word “EASYSTART” for my free easy start guide (0-18 months) xx Andrea @godiaperfree #eliminationcommunication #pottytrained without #pottytraining #godiaperfree #diapersstink #diaperfreebaby #parentinghacks #parentingepiphany #zerowaste

Alright, what's the best disposable diaper, Andrea?? Welp, in 75 days THESE diapers pictured on baby Twyla can completely BIODEGRADE 🤯 Seriously! 💡Did you know that disposable diapers are estimated to biodegrade in 350-500 years (but it's unknown, so basically no disposable diaper has EVER biodegraded, to date. Yeah, yuck. billions in the landfill FULL OF pee and poop.🤢). Diapers are the 3rd largest part of our wastestream - and the ONLY ONE that waste companies can not figure out how to mitigate. THIS IS A MAJOR PROB, Y'ALL. The solution: ideally, get your baby out of diapers by 1 year old with #eliminationcommunication. Whether you do that or not? Use compostable diapers!! My fave are pictured. Dyper is amazing!!!! ❤️DM me the word "DYPERPLS” for a special deal on 'em.❤️ or go to godiaperfree.com/dyper to check 'em out! They are super-soft, have the yellow stripe that turns to blue when wet, and they do not leak. They can be used over and over again. They arrive as a subscription but you can also SOS them in their app if you should run out early. In perfect conditions, they biodegrade in 75 days.🙌 In imperfect conditions??? They STILL biodegrade, and much more quickly than the permanent-waste-making disposable diapers like 7th Generation, Huggies, Honest Co, and Pampers! Please lmk what YOU use 👇 below! and lmk if you're gonna try Dyper this week xx Andrea @godiaperfree #infantpottytrainging #bestdiaper #compostablediaper #getdyper

Let’s not waste the ENTIRE day staring lol. 🤣 DM or comment the words “EASYSTART” and I will send you a simple one page guide with exactly how to do this and what those 4 Catches are! #eliminationcommunication #godiaperfree

"Elimination Communication 💙 We have been practising Elimination Communication with Charles from when he was about 4 weeks old. Elimination Communication or EC (also known as infant potty training, natural infant hygiene, and diaper free) is the practice of learning your baby’s potty cues and timing to help teach him that a potty is where he should pee and poo. I first heard of this a few years ago and was fascinated that a baby could learn how to potty train at such an early age. Nick was so hesitant about this but when I taught him how to hold Charles over the top hat potty that we got, and Charles soon learnt how to pee and poo in it, Nick got on board. Nick didn’t like the top hat potty as he found it awkward especially with Charles being a boy with a penis that would shoot pee out, so he bought a potty seat for the toilet we now use. It works brilliantly. We practice EC part-time, and using cues. We certainly don’t catch all of Charles’s pees and poos but trust me, it is so much cleaner when he does his poos in the toilet and not in his nappy/diaper. It does take patience but for us, we have saved on so many diapers, we find it so much more hygienic, and it has built such a lovely connection and trust between Charles and us." 📸 @ivf_tribe - a potty seat on the toilet is a fantastic EC tool that you'll use for years to come with your baby. thank you for sharing! ☺️ ▫️ 📕 Start EC easily with my free one-page guide 👉️ comment or DM 'EASYSTART' for a link to get your own! ▫️ xx Andrea @godiaperfree ▫️ #eliminationcommunication #pottytrained without #pottytraining #godiaperfree #diaperfree #pottyfrombirth #stopchangingstartpottying

When do we make the switch from diapers to undies? (you can find undies, trainers & more over at @tinyundies !) Indicator #1️⃣ that I love to use, is when that baby starts to walk, and I mean when the walking has been mastered. And I say when they've finished completely mastering walking, because if they're about to start walking or they're working on it, they're going to be really preoccupied on that and that often can cause potty pauses. It can also cause resistance. 😬 It can also cause a lot of misses, a lack of signals, or an increase in signals at those early events. (You don't have to switch directly to undies.) Sometimes that works great, sometimes that's a disaster. If you want to switch to training pants, Tiny Trainers are a good option! Indicator #2️⃣ is your own intuition. It's really important to honor when you get the hunch, or you get the feeling, "I really feel like it's time for me to stop putting diapers on my child." So when your intuition says it, do it. Indicator #3️⃣ is when you are just done changing diapers. 🙅🏻 You're done, you want to be done, you don't want to change any more, you don't want to use any more. So if you want to do this at six months, you want to do this at birth, no diapers, go for it. OR when diaper changing just becomes too hard. When the wrestle is real, it's time to kiss daytime diaper back ups goodbye. Indicator #4️⃣ is when you've got all the poops pretty much 100% caught, that's a really great chance to transition from diapers to no diapers. Note that we're talking about during the day. At night, you can still use diapers as a backup until the child's older, or you want to do night training! What is your plan to get out of diapers? Have you noticed any of these indicators in yourself or little one? DM me "WRAPPING UP" if you're looking for more resources! xx Andrea @godiaperfree #eliminationcommunication #pottytrained without #pottytraining #godiaperfree #diaperfree #pottyfrombirth #stopchangingstartpottying #tinyundies

Practicing #eliminationcommunication from birth with all #6babies and getting them out of diapers by the time they mastered walking has saved me from having to potty train, clean up blowouts 💩, battle toddlers who only want to poop in their diapers 🤢, not to mention all the money 💸💸 I’ve saved over the years 😎 But don’t worry, if you’re just now finding me and your kiddo is older than 16m+ you can still use my potty training plan and ditch those diapers in 1/2 the time of the national average of 36-38 months 😱 HOW?? 👉Comment the word “EASYSTART” for my free easy start guide (0-18 months) 👉👉 baby 18 month old and up? If you're ready to wrap-up EC or start potty training from scratch, we can help! DM "WrappingUp" for our best resource And tag a friend for goodness’ sake. Diapers are a PRODUCT that companies are making BILLIONS off of thru guilt, manipulation, and misinformation! 🤫 they do not have your baby’s best interests in mind - question it and follow the money! xx Andrea #eliminationcommunication #pottytrained without #pottytraining #godiaperfree #diapersstink#diaperfreebaby #parentinghacks #parentingepiphany
