👩‍💻calling all BLACK SESAME AND TARO LOVERS OUT THERE, if u know me u will know that I LOVE THESE FLAVOURS in fact when @beardpapassingapore launched these flavours i was already prepared to run for them 📍 @beardpapassingapore ▪️black sesame black cookie puff YUMMMMM their black sesame is actually p fragrant and u can taste the nuttiness, i find that it isnt as sweet as their usual custard feeling as well and the black cookie js gave it that crispy cookie texture on top of their usual puff texture which was more buttery and crunchy i like ▪️taro eclair puff i really must say beard papa is really upping their game with all these flavour like js look at the amount of fillings, PICS DONT LIE and it was rly q natural and a good amount of milkiness, would say their yam isnt super yammy like in ur face orh nee but u defo can taste it and if u are a yam lover, defo worth tryingg but of the 2 i would say their bsm >> yam though both are equally worth tryingg just dont expect it to be super gao yam like those chinese wedding dessert orh nee vibe, its more subtle but good enuf if u have a yam craving hehe and GENEROUS FILLINGS TRULY W FOR THE WIN ▪️taro red cookie can i just say, JUST GO FOR THEIR COOKIE PUFFS cause the cookie adds crunchiness and butteriness fragrance to the whole experience, definitely worth it, taro filling is as generous as always DEFO DO CHECK OUT THEIR BLACK SESAME AND TARO SERIES BEFORE IT ENDS🖤🖤 thank you @beardpapassingapore for letting us try these yummy puffs💖💖

breadyard p1 👩‍🔬👩‍💻Been here before a few times and we’re back again! Recently they have a new menu hehe so we’re here to try🤭 this prob requires a part 2 haha so stay tuned! For starters we had: ▪️Grilled Cheese Sammies For those cheese lovers, this was EVERYTHING u cld ever dreamt of🥹 the cheesy smell was pretty pungent and this was loaded with generous amount of cheese inside too. Bread was crisp and toasted nicely. Not very oily and packed with cheesy flavours. Sourdough wasnt stale and not very sour either. ▪️White Wine Clams with House Khobz Bread The clams were cleaned nicely and doesnt have that fishy smell. Portion was rather generous and this was packed with flavours. It was bursting with fragrant garlicky flavours. ▪️Roast Porchetta with Mustard This roasted pork belly was flavoured adequately with herbs and paired with dijon mustard. Would appreciate it more if the skin was more crackling though ▪️Spicy Buttermilk Wings This unassuming wings caught us by surprise. It was not only well marinated and flavourful but also the skin was rather crispy and wings were meaty. Oh be careful cause there’s a spicy lick to it👅 For Pasta we had: ▪️Pesto Pasta Their pesto truly cant go wrong. The noodles were al dente and basil pesto sauce was nutty and creamy but yet not so herby-y. The sauce for this wasnt watery and kinda gao. Also, can yall believe this was only $8…. How to find such price with this economy now! ▪️Fettuccine Miso Cream This miso butter cream was shef’s kiss too. Very creamy and it might be abit jelat for some as the sauce is thick but damn shiok too. Miso taste was a little muted so it’ll be better if it was stronger:) Ok, we’ll feature the mains and desserts in our next post! Thank you @breadyard for the generous amount of food and warm hospitality ❤️❤️❤️❤️

👩‍💻finally had the chance to go back to my first love and will always be that comforting cafe i turn too, v glad i popped by during xmas season to try some of their season specials as well as a tb exclusive item 📍 @microbakerykitchen ▪️smoked salmon tartine ⭐️7.5/10 i feel like their tartine really does set a good benchmark of what an above avg tartine should be and as always ive enjoyed it, their sourdough texture no need any words, crispy without cutting ur gum and it has that slight tanginess u would get from a sourdough, the ricotta w dill and smoked salmon combination rly cant go wrong, but ngl the smoked salmon taste was a bit strong and wouldve definitely liked it thrs more ricotta but the cranberry bits added that slight juice and texture ▪️vegan matcha chestnut tea cake ⭐️5/10 and i ooop this was HAHAHAHAH ig im rly nt a vegan bakes fan, it rly does hv that vegan bakes texture w it being q sticky ishh since no butter can be used and it had to be moist, the matcha was barely thr, only saving grace is the chestnut and the tea cake was q crumbly ▪️gingerbread cream cheese brownie $5 ⭐️7.5/10 on first bite, the spices taste was really strong, cinnamon and ginger that christmassy taste hit u in the face but after getting used to it, u start appreciating the brownie and cream cheese itself, it wasnt superrr tangyy the cream cheese which is y i found myself liking it more and more and can i js say the brownie was so fudgy and chocolateyy that it made me enjoy this rly q a bit❤️😋

👩‍💻its been a hot minute since ive visited this cafe but was in the area and decided to pop by GLAD I DID THOUGHH😋😋 📍 @apollocoffeebar ▪️chia pudding & yogurt ⭐️7.5/10 hehe me and my yogurt bowl order at cafes but yess was really craving for yogurt and this was actually one of the better yogurt bowls in the different cafes ive tried, the almond butter was also a good ratio w the honey greek yogurt, chia seeds alsoo was the right texture and amount, the whole bowl was super balanced and the granola isnt super sweetened since thrs honey in the greek yogurt and almond butter, the almon butter if im nt wrong isnt rly sweetened cause it tasted q pure and nutty yumzz, fruits were fresh too ▪️unagi bennet eggs ⭐️7.5/10 the eggs for this was really the perfect texture, the unagi isnt the best but it wasnt too thin as well, taste wise it isnt as saucy as it looks so not v sweet like how some other places make it so i liked that, but i must say the unagi is a tad fishy soo that wasnt rly a vibe but the egg was rly the star here ▪️brussel sprouts ⭐️8/10 WHEEEEE THIS WAS GUUUD but v oily soo defo needa share but it was cooked js nice, crunchy but not raw and those charred bits just adds a nice smokey flavour to it

👩‍💻i think y’all already know where this post is going considering how i’ve visited them on 3 different occasions for this compilation🤭 📍 @surreyhillsgrocer.sg Ion Orchard Outlet ▪️cereals crusted french toast $24 ⭐️8/10 YUMMMM hehe defo met my expectations after seeing so many post about this. The cereal crust really made it more crispy and u rly can taste the cereal taste and added more dimension to the toast. The brioche made it soft on the inside but it can be a tad dry so the blue pea ice cream defo helps w the moisture of it. The fruits were q fragrant but nt v sweet since the ice cream and syrup sweetness does overpower it. Their crumbles was not bad but i do think it can get too buttery at some parts of the toast but overall, its a good french toast and hard to find in sg. ▪️melbourne’s mussel pot $36 ⭐️7.5/10 this was p yummy just that their price is really q unjustifiable, dont get me wrong all their dishes are above average but its the price point that will be hard to overlook, the muscles was served in this garlikcky w those slow cooked onion broth which was flavourful yet also light enough to drink it, thr was a decent amount of mussels and no sand was in them and the sausage and potato defo gave it more flavour to it, their potato is slightly on the raw side like its cooked but q crunchy, their sourdough was alright, it didnt hv that strong sourdough tang but the bread texture itself is good, its crispy and v shiok to dip in the broth Vivocity Outlet ▪️tender seared turkey ⭐️9/10 i tried their slow cook turkey which was their xmas special AND IT WAS SOOO WORTHH! I wanted to try it a previous time but it got sold out but im so glad i tried it before it was gone. It was cooked soooo tender and the sauce that came w it was like a nice umami sauce with mushroom fragrance and was js a good combination to go with the turkey. It really was so tender. I wish it was a permanent item on their menu.

👩‍💻sharing some hawker eats as well cause at the end of the day its all about balance😉 these are stalls all found in Alexandra Village Hawker Centre 📍Xiang Jiang Soya Sauce Chicken (pics 1-5) i got their mee kia noodles w their soya sauce chicken and their shui jiao dumplings and OMGGGG GUYS PLS GO TRY THIS OUT FOR YOURSELF, it was SOOOO GUUUD urgh reminds me why exploring hawker is impt too, the chicken was tender and so meatyy, their sauce was also just nice, the seasoning wasn’t overly salty like enough sauce to cover the noodles and everything anout it was js right like the balance of the mee to the sauce to the portion of meat they gave which is what made this bowl of noodles good, its like all components of it done well nth exceptional but when it all comes tgt, it gives that synergy interaction and effect, NOT FORGETTING THE GOATED SHUI JIAO HOLY SHEESH IT WAS PLUMP STUFFED LITERALLY like thrs prawns and meat and veges js ALL IN ONE MUST ADD ON!! 📍 @kyuukeicoffee (pics 6&7) i tried their banana bread and black coffee and it was equally satisfying, their black coffee was p smooth and i enjoyed it, no coffee connoisseur but it was g coffee for me and their banana bread was moist and not v sweet hehe went well w the black 📍Zhang Ji Shanghai La Mian Xiao Long Bao (pics 8-10) their szechuan spicy wanton was rly sooo hugeee and plump super generous w the fillings, the sauce didn’t hv as much kick but fret nt SPAM MORE VINEGAR that they give at the side and IT WAS PERFECT hehe i luv my stuff vinegary, their bean sauce noodles jjm was alsoo anove average in the sense it isnt as diluted as those ive had, theirs actually had that bean paste taste and u get those minced meat bits in it which made it q fragrant, their xlb the SKINNN was the highlight, the filling is more on the fattier like more minced kind and nt as generously filled like their wantons but the skin was really nt v thick which made it enjoyable and had q a good amount of soup 📍Desserts Pavilion i got their glutinous rice cause they ran out of bsm but it was nb nice w the coconut cream but wo it, tasted plain but i like how they had the option of red bean tangyuan unlike most w js bsm/pb

👩‍💻continuing on more Italian food places i came here after knowing they achieve 1 michelin star but tldr: NOT WORTH and was actually v disappointing LOL 📍 @thecliffsentosa ⭐️5.5/10 ive tried their pepperoni pizza as well as their xmas set dinner, lets start w their starters, the raw marinated kingfish wasn’t super fishy but it felt a bit sweet and not v refreshing for something tt sounded refreshing, the kingfish was q thicc like the mouthfeel is thr but tt slight fishiness does throws it off a little, the next course was truffle capellini THIS WAS NOT IT the pastaaa omg as an italian place if u mess pasta up then something is js wrongf, the capellini was MUSHY NOT AL DENTE AT ALL it was js a mush and gooey like u cant even taste the strand bit by bit it was nt it and the flavour was also js so one dimensional, the beef and dessert were the saving grace, beef was cooked to the right perfection and the mash potato was p creamy w that strong potatoey flavour butni found the red cabbage slightly too sweet and covered by tm of the acidity, but dessert was THE GOAT, SO SO GOOD its the best mont blanc ive had ever, the base tart was firm but buttery and u can still taste the chestnut which went well w the cream, it was a good dessert a nice ending, their pizza idk how but they actually messed the pepperoni flavour up by adding tm chilli flakes over it so the beefy flavour got covered and felt more like a chinese dish like those sichuan chilli flake meat dish sooo that was nt a vibe

👩‍🔬Been gone for far too long that i have too many backlog LOL but adulting just got me busy and im too lazy to post reviews nowadays so cheers😭😭 anyways, i realised i hv too many matcha pics that this is a compilation of the few places that i tried! 📍Pacto by parchmen ▪️Asuka Matcha Latte $7.50 ⭐️ 6/10 This is located at KADA, which is a new place at Maxwell. Literally damn vibey cause got a few stores to hop arnd and very ig worthy too! Quite difficult to find a place to sit inside as the place is quite tiny. Maybe can only sit abt 3-4 pax? @hungryybearr and i ordered ours through the hole in the wall and went somewhere else to drink. They have diff version of matcha latte. I just chose the mid price bahahha. I think overall it was alright. Matcha wasnt as strong as i anticipated and this was more on the milky side. 📍Slow Joe⭐️ 7/10 We prob came at the right time cause it was xmas and somehow the place was not crowded at all and me and @jovi.eats just yapped for a whole 3 hrs there… ☠️ also, very interesting how for each drink, they literally just used one gigantic ice cube 👀 ▪️Matcha Latte $8.50 ▪️Strawberry Matcha Latte $9.80 Quite an expensive price tag i must say but since they used Niko Neko’s matcha i guess i can forgive u😭😭 strawberry bits were nice and more on the itty bitty size but perhaps im just used to more bitter and gao matcha flavour profile cause this didnt satisfy my craving. Matcha flavour kinda dies down and turned to more milky as time goes by. It was also a tad sweet for my liking. 📍GoRogue ▪️ Matcha Peach Yakult $8 ⭐️ 4/10 hmmm i guess the combi was interesting? Never thought that matcha could be paired with yakult but then again when we tried it it just felt abit… off? Maybe the ratio wasnt right cause the yakult kinda overpowered the matcha.

👩‍💻when they announced that they were bringing this back, i knew i had to get it cause its matchaaa pls and ceremonial matcha??? SAY NO MORE 📍 @cinnabon.sg ▪️mini ceremonial matcha mochibon $4.80 ⭐️8/10 Mmmmmmm this is prob my second fav cinnabon from them after their bsm one. Yes it is sweet as with their usual cinnabons but that matcha bitterness is definitely thr as well. The sweetness is similar to their usual cinnabons but if u want a nice sweet treat and js something comforting, this definitely do the trick. Pls get them to reheat it for u cause it turns into this chewy dough and nt the raw dough vibes WE DONT WANT THAT but after reheating u get this warm ooze and that stretchy mochi hehe. The mochi was q silky and nt those v hard kind. It is definitely one for those sweet tooth and for those that are fans of sweet matcha but still want that slight bitterness. Would say matcha purist might blame it for being too sweet but coming from cinnabon, i would say this did hit my expectations and u can really taste that matcha gaoness right thr.

👩‍💻im thinking should i do a 2024 favs but i think through my posts it defo pretty obv and with 2024 hving ended, we are now ushering 2025, this is just a compilation of some recent eats and more italian fud once again 📍 @tessbarsg ⭐️8/10 #nomnommusteats ▪️lobster mac and cheese $42 YUMMMMMM i luv this, it was the right amount of cheesiness with the chunks of lobster, it was creamy and milky, can get q greasy but not in a super heavy kind of bloated feeling way, its a comfy nice jelak feeling and their seasoning of the food is really on point, in general, they are on the saltier and heavier tasting side of food since its still a bar so their food is meant to go w drinks but defo a bar with equally good food and highly recommend anyone to visit and try out for themselves ▪️seafood stew $30 can i just say, this was so so sooo loaded with seafood and it was like i scooped and ate sm but thrs still sm left, the seasoning for this is lighter but u still get that slight seafood sweetness and the seafood in it were all nicely cooked, no rubberiness and just all nicely tender, the toast that came with it wasn’t the best but the broth of the seafood stew was like a nice warm heart super comforting ▪️triple cooked crackling pork belly $15 GUYS PLS TRY THIS OMGG it was so so crispy and yes ofc the fats is thr and can be q fatty but its pork belly and without it, thr will be no flavour but they rly cooked it so well so nicely crispy and even after putting out for a while it still retains that crispiness and is just the right amount of thickness ▪️angus steak $42 ok pls pass on this, their steak not the best and is kinda chewy 📍 @bydby1826_singapore @byd_sg i got to try the $9.90++ linch set menu that has been going around and i must say, it rly is super value for money, ofc dont expect it to be any gourmet food but for something this affordable for a 3 course meal and its actually p decent, its super value for money, when i went that month it was their bulgogi chicken and it was surprisingly q nice, the sauce was nice sweet and spicy not too saucy and they gave q huge chunks of chicken rly a lot of meat and the chicken was tender, if im not wrong is thigh meat

👩‍💻posting this up before their limited special soba is gone cause if u haven’t tried it, TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO RUN FOR IT #nomnommusteats 📍 @healthysobaiki ▪️Toshikoshi soba Kamo Tsuke Soba dipping style $18 ⭐️8.5/10 YUMMM i rly dont think thrs any soba that they have done wrong or at least not the ones ive tried and their specials always seem to be the ones ive enjoyed most. This was no exception. Dont go in thinking it’ll be anything mindblowing but this is a simple broth done right whereby everything just works and complements each other so well that it gives that synergy effect and makes it so good. The duck TENDER not gamey the mushroom SOFT YET CHEWY the tofu beancurd SOAKS THE BROTH shiok maxness and ofc the broth was literally the most comforting broth ive had in a while. Its so umami yet still so gentle like a comforting hug in your stomach and is something everyone should try it for themself. Its rly nothing fanciful but just broth cooked and simmered to get out the most flavour out of it and u can really taste it.
