@umai.sg is @omote.sg ‘s newest udon artisanal bar which will be open to public on 16 Jan! 🎏 we ate: 🍜 Miso Carbonara | $19 Spicy option available for this as well. The Sanuki noodles was mixed with aged pecerino romano cheese, so those who love cheesy flavours would love this 🧀 . It was also served with slow cooked black pork which was SO SOFT and tender yall gotta try this out! 🌶️ Chilli Pan Mee | $15 This is a stir fried bowl of Hoto noodles which is similar to ban mian with a bouncy texture. It was served with black pork, silver anchovies and the spicy shrimp sauce was really aromatic and fragrant! 🍤 Oni Himokawa Udon with Niku Shabu & Tempura Deluxe Set (Hot Soup) | $23 Cold soup options available for this as well. The Himokawa noodles were wide and flat with a really silky texture and was served in a hearty beef soup. If you like lighter soup flavours you will enjoy this! The tempura was a lil dry and the batter was sticking to the neighbouring pieces a lil, wished it was more crispy. 🍄 Hiratake Shrooms | $10 If you are looking for something to share, these barbecue mushrooms were bite sized, coated with kobayaki oyster sauce and savoury in flavour, enjoyed this. 🦑 Crispy Squid Frits | $16 Asked the staff what other sides we should try and he recommended those in the first row of the “small plates for sharing” page and boy did it not disappoint! The deep fried squids were extremely crispy and dipping it in the fresh yuzu mayo elevated the dish with a tangy and sweet flavour. Do take note that the portion is a lil small for the price point.
