If you’re new here, my New’s Year Resolution was to learn to draw character art using @Adobe Illustrator. Having discovered the joy of Nanalan’ last year, I started out drawing characters from the show - Mona, Russer, Nana and the gang. I would send each new drawing to my Mum who’d invariably say “Nana’s nose is too big” or “Mona’s head to too flat!” 😅 It drove me on to keep trying to improve. My Mum died in August. She had been ill for a short while but not THAT ill. It was a huge shock. We got the news after that her scans indicated motor neurone disease, which had also taken the lives of my Grandad and two of my Uncles. Earlier this month, my Auntie on my Dad’s side also passed away from MND. It’s been a truly horrible year, and I’m not sure where I’d be without the kindness and support of the Nanalan’ community AKA The Birdies 💚 Prior to my Mum’s funeral, my followers helped raise over £3K to help other families affected by this cruel disease. Since then, I decided to sell copies of my artwork to help raise more money. With the kind permission of the original creators, I set up an Etsy shop with more than 10 designs to choose from. But there’s one that no one wants… “Mona’s Sandwich” 😬😂 I need to print a minimum of 20 designs each time, so don’t want to end up with any for recycling! Thank you for reading.
