Escaping The Training Simulation was an incredible experience. See you at the next one! We are releasing 50 copies of the seminar video in the meantime (link in bio). Grab a copy for a fresh perspective on the first principles of athleticism + physical development.

When we talk about speed, we tend to be biased in the β2Dβ realm, but yet there is so much to see (and train!) in the 3D space. The beautiful thing as well, is great β3Dβ rotation and torque in acceleration can translate extremely well into oneβs top end speed when transitioned skillfully. Credit to @thedavidweck for the head over foot observation that has been really helpful to me in my coaching and training journey. To learn more about my own 2D and 3D coaching process to develop powerful acceleration and athletic movement, check out Sprint Acceleration Essentials. #sprintacceleration #biomechanics #athleticperformance #speedtraining

(Now approved for 1.2 NSCA CEUs in Category C!) My new course is finally here, this is an exciting one. After nearly 2 decades of coaching, learning, observing, training and routinely being humbled by the innate intelligence of the body in motion as I have worked to understand it, the Sprint Acceleration Essentials course has βlandedβ and I couldnβt be more proud of it. This course works along the story of 1) First Principles of Skill Building 2) β2Dβ approach to acceleration 3) β3Dβ approach to acceleration and 4) Speed and Power Development The bonus content (@austinjochum and @theuofstrength ) is insanely good and you can get it now for a limited time introductory price. Im beyond excited to get this out to you all. Link in bio (linktree). #speedtraining

Gout Gout has clear, physical gifts for sprinting, but his management of those levers is also something special to watch. Itβll be amazing to watch his progress in the next 5 years! #sprinting #speedtraining #biomechanics #sportsperformance #trackandfield

If you know running well, you can know sprinting better. If you know sprinting well, you can know running better. Run-Speed Workshop: Dec 14th in Cincinnati Ohio (link in bio) Torque Chain concepts and credit: @strongfit1 #sprinttraining #runningcoach #biomechanics #athleticperformance #locomotion

Rotation is a critical factor in all human movement. Varying surfaces allow us to observe it in different ways. Check out Sprint Acceleration Essentials (40%OFF!) and my other courses on sale until Dec 2nd at midnight! Credit @bill_hartman_pt and UHP+ Network for advancing my thought process on the nature of upstream ground forces. New podcast coming soon with Bill and Chris. #sprinttraining #biomechanics #speedtraining #athleticperformance #rotationalpower

In reality, no coaching cue is teaching an athlete the direct, βrightβ way to move. Rather, itβs just giving information to the system. When you look at movement in light of giving athletes information and constraints, vs dictating their strategy, you not only get more pure movement, but also a deeper understanding of how movement is processed. Itβs apparent elite track sprinters, on a track, in spikes, run differently than team sport athletes on a field in cleats, etc. But what about track and team sport athletes sprinting at the same speed, on the same surface, etc? New research by Meng, Walts, Ryan, Stearne and Clark gives us this answer and much more in their latest study. #sportscience #sprinting #sprinttraining #athleticperformance #biomechanics

The best drills and setups can 1. Train relevant muscles And 2. Show you something about how your body works in the process #sprinttraining #speedtraining #athleticperformance #sportsperformance #sprintdrills

βTo Learn Something New, Read an Old Bookβ Iβd recommend starting with Starzynskiβs classic for Plyometrics and explosive training. #plyometrics #plyometric #explosivetraining #powertraining #athleticperformance

@daniellabelle1 makes locomotion a comedic art form, but I canβt help but observe the differences based on speed and distance to run. Ribcage type and compression plays a role in the use of lateral space, but all athletes will trend wide to narrow as they accelerate and move up to top end speed. Be on the lookout for a new mini-course on Elastic/Muscular sprint types, technique and training β‘οΈ #sprinting #sprintmechanics #speedtraining #biomechanics #athletics

Structure dictates function, and paints a picture of why an athlete may prefer to move as they do. Side note: Rectangle spaces drawn are extreme for the point of demonstration and not to any exact scale πβ‘οΈ Podcast 381 with @alex.effer went in detail on base of support with Narrow and Wide types. #sprintaccelerationessentials #speedtraining #athleticperformance #sportsperformance #biomechanics #sprinttraining
