🔱 BTP Has a Zero Tolerance for Loxeal! 🔱 Let me make this clear: Loxeal has its place, but when it comes to maintenance plumbing, fit-offs, or any situation where fittings need to come undone again, it’s an absolute NO from me. 👎 Loxeal is a bloody masterpiece for certain applications. Hats off to the engineers who designed it—10/10 for creating something that seals threads watertight and ensures fittings NEVER come loose. Deep underground? 💯 Loxeal is your mate. But for domestic or most commercial settings? Forget it. The mechanical force needed to undo Loxeal fittings often causes catastrophic damage, and I’m not here to ruin anyone’s Friday. The worst part? I see it every day. Overuse, misuse, and that nasty ooze creeping into fittings. Who wants their drinking water running over that crap? 🤢 It’s lazy plumbing, plain and simple. It’s disrespectful to the homeowner, the next plumber on the job, and the bloody trade itself. Enter Teflon tape or pipe cord—my ride-or-die. 🙌 For maintenance plumbers, pipe cord is the ultimate all-rounder: gas, water, solar, hot water—one product does it all. It’s fibrous, seals beautifully, and makes fit-offs a dream. No mess, no fuss, and easy to undo when needed. It’s a product for those who actually care about doing the job right. 🚨 A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Plumber 🚨 Hold on tight, because this plumber’s day got WILD. 🔥 First job—water leak at a new client’s place up in the Dandenongs. So, this guy calls me the night before, asking if I can come out TONIGHT. I’m thinking, “Do I look like I’m just waiting by the phone for your call?” 🤨 I told him, “No can do, mate. I can come first thing in the morning,” and he’s like, “Well, I won’t be there tomorrow, it’s my weekender house.” 😳 And here’s the thing—Red flag alert! 🚩 Who doesn’t show up to their own property when there’s a plumbing emergency?! I said, “Mate, if I’m coming out there, I need you to be serious about this. I’m not reshuffling my whole day for you to be a no-show.” He promised he was serious. Classic line. Spoiler alert: He wasn’t. 🙄 I get there, start assessing the job, and what happens? The guy freaks out, “Oh no, this is bigger than I thought!” 🤦‍♂️ Tell me something I don’t know—that’s how it always goes. New plan: I’m charging for quotes from now on. It’s time to be paid for my expertise. 💸 On to the next job: Basin mixer trouble. The hole was cut WAY too wide for the tap. The standard is 35mm, but this? Absolute chaos. 😱 Time is ticking because I’ve got another job coming up. What’s a plumber to do? I think quick—widen the load, sacrifice my handsaw, and boom!
