Here is a photo of the sitting room at our Dartmouth Park project, which is featured in this month’s House & Garden. I started the design for this room with the combination of yellow paper-backed fabric for the walls and the burnt orange Fortuny fabric for the curtains. The rest of the colours flowed out of that combination, mainly trying to cool down the hot tones with cooler ones like purple, green and blue. I used to find it really tough to make space for purple in my schemes, but I catch myself reaching for it more and more these days… This photo was taken by the very talented @james_mcdonald_photography
So happy to have our project featured in @houseandgardenuk this month. Thank you to our wonderful clients, @liz_elliot_hg, @emilyseni0r, and everyone at the magazine. Photos by @paul_massey and lovely words by @serena_fokschaner. Go out and get yourself a copy now!
An oldie but a goodie! Here’s a photo of the sitting room at our old flat. I designed this room back when I was still working as a lawyer. We’ve since moved a couple of times, most recently into a flat just a few doors down. It is a nearly identically shaped space, and we haven’t quite finished decorating our new sitting room yet. Will be interesting to see how they differ!
Clients love @brandon_schubert, “My consultation with Brandon was productive. His advice was practical and mindful of our home’s architecture and existing aesthetic. He offered insights on flow and was honest about identifying problem areas. He condensed so much help into a one-hour session.” —James S. A cheerful pink and white bathroom at our recent cottage project in Wiltshire, as featured by House & Garden a few weeks ago. This project was a light touch redecoration and this little bathroom didn’t need much. Just some paint, wallpaper, a new blind and some botanical prints to bring it together. You can read more about the project on House & Garden’s website. Photo by @boz_gagovski
The orange stair hall at our project in Hampstead. The walls are painted in Wet Sand, an archive colour from @farrowandball which contrasts with the blue entrance hall beyond. 🧡💙 Photo by @boz_gagovski
A view through the stair hall in our Munich project. Choosing a colour for stairs can often be tricky, since they run right up the house and connect with many other rooms. I chose an olive green for these, which is vibrant but works well with lots of other colours. The colour is Caraway Green from Sanderson. Photo by @james_mcdonald_photography
I’m delighted to see our Wiltshire cottage project featured by House & Garden this week. This photo garnered some comments for the presence of shoes in the photo. There’s a funny balance when taking photos between trying to style the perfect photo, and still making the house feel like a real home. I think it’s important not to sanitise the life out of a house, so bring on the shoes! 📷 @boz_gagovski
Blues and greens in the dining room of our recent project in Munich. The new cabinet is the star of the show for me. It was inspired by local Bavarian painted furniture, but supersized to make useful storage, and created by the wonderful @mathewbrayandmatthewcollinsltd. The rug is also newly made, we based the design on traditional Chinese “Peking” carpets. The table was made for the room and the chairs are from @svenskttenn. Photo by @james_mcdonald_photography
So excited for the opening of the new Wow!House @designcentrech this week. It was two years ago that I designed this room for the first ever Wow!House for @sanderson1860 using @wmorrisandco fabrics. What a fun event to be a part of and I can’t wait to see the new rooms this year! Photos captured by the brilliant @james_mcdonald_photography. #wowhouseatdcch #designcentrechelseaharbour #wmorrisandco
The sitting room of our recent project in Munich. The colour palette for this room was all about the connection to the garden. I wanted to keep it light, fresh and inviting. 📷 Captured recently by @james_mcdonald_photography
I’m so happy to be included again on @houseandgardenuk’s list of their Top 100 interior designers and architects. Thank you so much @hattabyng, @mrdavidnicholls, @emilyseni0r and @liz_elliot_hg. What an honour 🙏 #top100
